My self-summary
Hi, my name's Justin!

I like long walks on the beach with flaming tricycles.

I care a lot for my friends and family and look out for them, especially if they're in trouble or freaking out. I'm the kind of guy who will back up his friend because they are in a bad situation or just because calling myself a "wingman" is badass. Actually, all flight metaphors are badass. Should I learn how to fly a plane? That question was rhetorical. I will almost always drop what I'm doing to help out a friend, especially if they need someone to talk to or vent at.

I like being outside or on-the-go and thoroughly enjoy events with a lot of people yelling: sports games, that Stewart and Colbert rally that happened a while back, and especially concerts.
I hope you enjoy your stay on my page. Tragically I don't include laundry, room service, housekeeping, or trash... but I'll give you a mint if you ask nicely.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a Senior at the University of Rochester pursuing a dual major in Brain and Cognitive Sciences and American Sign Language (BCS & ASL if you're a person who enjoys acronyms).
For fun I like to do ASL interpretations of songs and stories and throw them on YouTube. If you want to check them out: . I'm sorry, I don't have any captions for the stories but the songs should be easier to figure out :P
I'm big on sign language; I am pretty fluent at ASL and I'm alright with French sign language. Over the past few years I've been more and more involved with the Rochester Deaf community and have just been basing a lot of my time around the University of Rochester ASL club.
Throughout college my focus has largely been in psycholinguistic research but I have quite the curiosity in general cognition. I would love to make them all fit together in a little nutshell and I'm certain that I can with a little creativity.
I’m really good at
Laughing at everything, "Do it, you won't", the Awkward Game (aka taking turns yelling "Penis!" louder and louder).
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile and my cool shirts.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
If a book isn't action packed, I tend to fall asleep. The Stand was pretty awesome, as Stephen King tends to be, and I would be a liar if I said I didn't like the His Dark Materials trilogy.

Movies: My most recent favorite is RED but I do enjoy a good Back to the Future or Star Wars once in a while... Inglorious Bastards was pretty good... so was Fight Club, Boondock Saints...

TV: Dexter, Lie to Me, Leverage, Dr. Who, Whose Line is it Anyway, Archer, The Daily Show, Family Guy.

Music: Foo Fighters, Queen, Incubus, Green Day, Reel Big Fish, Sublime, but I will give any band a listen.

Food: Gramma's secret recipe pasta sauce! I am very proud of my Italian heritage and I celebrate it with food. Be it pasta, chicken/eggplant parm, and (especially) gelato. Aside from that I eat just about anything I'm given. I have eaten chicken, beef, lamb, snail, rabbit, manflesh, shark... wait, what was that?
Seriously though, I have not, nor ever intend to, dined on people... not even once.
I am learning to cook though, so perhaps I'll MAKE my favorite food! Go easy on me for now though, so far I've perfected banana bread (the secret ingredient is applesauce!) and pasta carbonara (aka "pasta you could totally justify having for breakfast"). I just got a new place with a solid kitchen so hopefully I'll be adding to my culinary arsenal soon!
Six things I could never do without
1. My friends 2. My foes 3. The Internet/our Google overlords 4. Danger 5. Loud music 6. Laughing
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with my friends in one setting or another. We stay in, we go out, we party. I have crashed Wegman's on several occasions and bought fortune cookies, put sour patch kids in really cheap Goya soda, and accidentally gotten shampoo in my nose.
I almost never go to noisy clubs, but relaxing at a bar with some of my friends while swishing around my overpriced beer is sometimes just what the doctor ordered.
I do have my occasional video game hooks where I have lost all track of time and found myself at 4 in the morning. Although I'd rather be social, being alone can be just as fun if I've had a long week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't know if this is private, but I judge people by their apostrophe use/misuse.
You should message me if
You made a stupid joke and laughed even though everyone else stared at you like you're an idiot.
You have to stifle a chuckle when someone says "duty"
You can answer this question: "What time does the narwhal bacon?"
