My self-summary
I'm a feminist writer and freelance digital strategist living in a railroad apartment by Christie Pits. I have three boyfriends, three cats, and a countless number of neglected deadlines at any given moment. I feel best on days when I make something with my hands and/or go outdoors. You'd think that would mean I do those things more often than I do!

I love my friends a lot and I am always trying to solve people's problems by cajoling them into making strategic goals. I realize this makes me sound insufferable, and there is no followup sentence that explains why I'm not actually insufferable.

I like watching documentaries, eating freezies, playing Dixit, hugging dogs, and talking about politics and culture. I don't like zombies, cold, intoxicants, and being told jokes. I love sincerity and skepticism in equal measure.

I'm a REALLY effusive person. This is important to know about me. Don't get freaked out!!
What I’m doing with my life
Making friends for whom I would want to make waffles, decorating my apartment with as much stuff from the "free" section of Craigslist that my fear of bedbugs will allow, sewing without a pattern, cleaning up cat barf, and trying to figure out what book I want to be reading.

Other things I have done with my life include:
1. Child actor (one of my movies ended up on MST3K!)
2.. Interpreting to/from ASL for a great Deaf student.
3. Moderating a busy political message board.
4. Owning/running a feminist communications company.
5. Writing speeches for Jack Layton (oh I miss him)

I'm (obviously) really into people who talk about their work. What do you do? What would be your dream job, if you don't have it now? That's not a rhetorical question! It doesn't have to be paid work, I just like to know what folks are up to.

Another thing I am up to in my life is being part of a rad family!

I met my amazing partner, Syntactic on this very website in 2008! He is blindingly clever, relentlessly patient, and we're trying to turn our life into a screwball comedy. I love him with all of my heart. You should take a 99% match very seriously, folks.

Also, I have been smooching CPD1981 for almost three years! He's such a talented hilarious babe. I'm so glad I typed "hip hop" into the keyword search, and that he took a chance on a gal with a boyfriend!

ALSO ALSO, I am so lucky to be in a family with Natalie_Zed, who is Syntactic's other partner. She is hilarious and loving and brilliant in this super low-key way. She is also one of the bravest people I have ever met, and if you mess with her I will fight you.
I’m really good at
* Community building
* Improvising meals
* Clearly explaining complicated ideas
* Giving pep talks
* Cable knitting

(In the sake of full disclosure, I am lousy at:
* Small talk
* Keeping a kitchen clean
* Cool detachment
* Letting go of grudges
* Intarsia knitting)
The first things people usually notice about me
I can't stop talking about my murphy bed.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to get people to re-learn the concept of solidarity, in order to fix our stupid culture and stop people from believing all sorts of wack shit that is totally not true.

How much Helen Reddy's song Angie Baby belongs on Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska album.
On a typical Friday night I am
Kissing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes my overuse of exclamation marks exhausts even me.
You should message me if
You have read my profile. You are enthusiastic. You are a feminist or feminist-ally. You have an idea about how to make the world better. You have listed at least ONE female artist in your books/music/movie favourites. You are super pro-abortion. I can't figure out why conservatives keep messaging me.
