My self-summary
Greetings, my name is Val. I am a Subaru driving, graphic designing, beard loving, poetry writing, outdoor & environmental enthusiast. The outdoors is my first love and I often use this subject as inspiration for my work. Additionally I love kayaking, camping, hiking etc..

At some point I'm looking to move possibly west or further north, so I don't plan on settling any time soon. I would also like to travel as much as possible so I don't foresee children ever in my future. My ultimate life goal is to purchase a 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, fix it up / outfit it with a roof tent, and drive around in search of great times and wonderful memories.

While I may show interest from across the continent, it's most likely because I soon wish to pursue a life on the west coast and meeting people prior to doing so would help bring me one step closer.
What I’m doing with my life
I am an Associate Web Designer for American Eagle Outfitters and I fulfill the remainder of my creative energies with photography and the occasional painting / hand lettering (to the best of my abilities). I am stuck under the corporate grind until I can save enough money to move wherever it feels like home.
I’m really good at
• photography / design
• cooking
• organization
• making people laugh
• packing things into a single space (due to many years of camping and moving during undergrad)

I take milk in my tea, my coffee black, the occasional matcha and most certainly a good beer. I hardly drink for various reasons along with the fact that I know next to nothing about alcohol aside from what kind of beer I like.
My favorite foods include roasted brussel sprouts with bacon, pasta bolognese, strawberries, salmon, any and all Mexican food, and just about anything with garlic in it.
The six things I could never do without
• camera
• sweaters / flannels
• art
• outdoors
• books
• the human consciousness
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I am constantly thinking about how much waste we produce as humans and how little people care. I watched an interview of a young girl who produced enough trash in a year to only fill a mason jar and has inspired me to be more conscious of my consumption. My ultimate goal is to be more self-sustaining and less wasteful for the benefit of the future of this planet.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix, games or working on a design project that I thought about the entire week whilst plugging away at my 9-5
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a thing for bearded lumberjack types.
Also, I enjoy video games and don't ever plan to reproduce. I am often told I will change my mind. I feel so very strongly that I won't because my justifications are strong. I have seen what overpopulation has done to our beautiful planet, I don't ever think as an artist that I could handle the financial burdens of a family, and my drive to travel would certainly be hindered. Many may think, well that is selfish. But believe me, I think with the state of the world, lack of jobs and depletion of resources, I think I'm doing the planet a favor. Humans don't have natural predators and the Darwin theory has only been doing so much, what with the advancement of medicine and science these days.
You should message me if
If you're able to give more than a few word answers. Also, if you dig the outdoors as much as myself and wish to pick at my brain, by all means message me.

If you don't recycle or at least have some sort of empathy towards the environment, don't bother.
