My self-summary
I can't see who "likes" my profile, so if you do, send a message as well.

I enjoy learning about the Human Experience through introspective reflection on my own experiences during my interactions with the world and cultivating relationships with those around me. I think socialization is important in that being a social animal lets one learn about oneself and thus grow as a person. I think that discovering and knowing oneself, really and truly, is one of the noblest and most important pursuits in life. This requires a lot of honesty, with oneself and with the people in one's life, so I guess I'd say I'm pretty good at those things. I think the journey is often more important than the destination and that the best way to get to know and grow closer to someone is through shared experience.

Despite being more of an artsy person, I enjoy learning about science and psychology and biology (among so many other things). I've learned that wasps can recognize the faces of other wasps that they know and that only half of a dolphin's brain is asleep at any one time (otherwise they'd drown) and many other things. If you're interested, we can talk about them. I know lots of things about lots of things.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm attending graduate school at The Brown School at Wash U for a Master's Degree in Social Work with a focus in Sexuality (despite studying Art and Creative Writing in college). Also, lately I've been listening to NPR, going to the gym, and meeting a lot of new people.
I’m really good at
Adventures, whimsy, imagination, empathy, making people laugh, being emotionally mature while being (charmingly) immature about certain other things (because life is about more than just maturity), being very sex-positive (I'm even down with/interested in polyamory and alternative lifestyles), talking intelligently about Art and Writing, playing some guitar, singing in the car and shower, and mailing messages in bottles to people (it's not just for the ocean anymore!).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
BOOKS: No One Belongs Here More Than You by Miranda July, Cruddy by Lynda Barry, Willful Creatures by Aimee Bender, and other short fiction or poetry that's kind of in the same vein. I also read some fantasy/scifi. Plus and also: lots of comics and graphic novels of varying genres.

MOVIES: I watch a lot of different stuff.

TV (in no particular order): Archer, Arrested Development, Game of Thrones, The Following, Sherlock, Hannibal, The X-Files, Vikings, American Horror Story, The Wire, The Office, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, The IT Crowd, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Seinfeld, etc.

I hate reality TV.

MUSIC: Bob Dylan, Bright Eyes, Andrew Bird, David Bowie, Elliott Smith, Neutral Milk Hotel, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Har Mar Superstar, Spoon, The Thermals, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, and many, many more. I like mostly indie/folk/anti-folk/alternative, but I'll listen to pretty much anything.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why goats' pupils are rectangular (UPDATE: I've discovered why, but it's still interesting); the wonders of evolution and the animal kingdom; performance art, Marina Abramovic, and Yoko Ono; being in touch with my body and its processes; human (and animal) sexuality and everything to do with it; BDSM, kink, and polyamory; feminism and social justice; where hard science and pseudoscience converge; psychosomaticism and the power of suggestion; social psychology and the science of lying; myths, legends, and folklore; language and etymology; shapes; carrion flowers; and Natalie Portman's eyebrows.
You should message me if
You want to know more about me, or if something on my profile resonates with you,

Or if you can recognize and wonder at the simplest and strangest of things,

Or if you want to talk intelligently about Art,

Or if you're into sex-positivity, sexology, and/or kink and want to talk about or know more about those things,

Or if you want to go Calvin-and-Hobbesing with me,

Or if you can teach me something new.

I can't see who "likes" my profile, so if you do, send a message as well!
