My self-summary
This is the hardest part: I'm outgoing and also a thinker, I like to see the broader picture and understand what is going on. Life and people are always fascinating to me. I love laughter and humour too and a bit of 'craic'. I particularly like people with a sense of adventure, who haven't lived an overly conventional life, but I don't mean anything too weird and wonderful. I love travel and exploring other cultures and have been to many countries, but there are many more places to see, or go back to, and I'd like to think II may get to do more than be a tourist again, e.g. volunteer overseas. I'm keen on yoga and interested in health, attracted to meditation though not great at practising it. Checking out Qi-gong at the moment. Nature's really important to me, whether it's just getting dirt under my fingernails in the garden, watching a nature documentary on TV or actually getting out and about into the great outdoors, even just the Botanic Gardens or better still, a good walk on the beach or in the mountains. I feel strongly about taking better care of our planet, even if all that endless recycling can be a bit of a chore.

I'm curious about life, adventurous and bohemian at heart.
What I’m doing with my life
Busy raising my son as a single parent, working as a teacher, managing a home and trying to balance those with some time for my own interests
I’m really good at
Languages, connecting with other cultures, seeing things from others' perspective and perceiving what people are about & looking beyond the superficial
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm quite regularly mistaken for someone else (there must be a lot of other women who look like me - or else some celebrity??!!)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love escaping into a good read - who-dunnits with plenty of atmosphere and either a foreign or historical setting or.books about living in and exploring other countries; there was a time when I read a lot in the sociological and 'self-improvement' vein but these days I enjoy fiction more. I'm not a great fan of Hollywood movies, they're often too predictable and shmaltzy for my taste but they're hard to avoid and there are good ones sometimes. I like European films, but don't often get to see them.
Music? I listen to a lot of classical, world, Latino, Irish trad, jazz of the less offbeat variety, and some rock, blues and pop.
I like Mediterranean food, seafood, good salads, barbeques and I can overdose on fruit ; but lest anyone think I'm disgustingly health-conscious, I've a weakness for pastries, nice desserts, dark chocolate(70%) and ice-cream too and am not bad at baking cakes either when I've time to spare.
The six things I could never do without
My son, my belief that things always work out in the end, my friends, my health, sunshine, music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to give my son a happy and balanced upbringing, how to be more fulfilled when life can sometimes be very mundane, whether I'll ever meet that someone special, the state of the nation and the world!
On a typical Friday night I am
Relaxing with a well-earned glass of wine, enjoying that Friday feeling-even if Saturday is often as hectic as a weekday
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not made to live alone
You should message me if
You're someone with a bit of depth and a sense of fun, who's able to be serious and mad too, maybe a bit intellectual but down to earth as well. Someone who has thought about why we're here, who wants life to have meaning, who's able to listen and give of themselves. And of course, romantic and passionate...brown eyes are a big plus for me too
