My self-summary
About me: I really don't want to go on in most flattering terms about my more endearing qualities. I'm sure that you've heard it all a hundred times before. I am a home builder with a passion for bringing artistic expression to the living space. I'm always looking for new ways to be more creative in my craft. Honesty, integrity and respect for others are qualities that I value in my business and personal relationships. I'm supportive in my relationships with my friends and loved ones and I always listen to what they have to say. I do not know whether I am smart or handsome, but I am intensely curious and very interested in who you are.

About you: You are fascinated and intrigued by the world around you and the people in it. You are always looking for the clever, the unique, that which is apart from the crowd. You are not a follower and this is reflected in your style, your musical tastes, and your philosophy. You’re affectionate and warm and sensual, you have an open and imaginative mind and a playful nature, you’re compassionate and have a keen social awareness. You understand that it's all about personal relationships. You have a healthy respect for nature, our planet, and its ability to sustain life. You love animals . . . Oh, and you like to talk . . . to me . . . very important.
What I’m doing with my life
I recently sold my wonderful, palatial, exquisitely crafted home, that I designed and built with my own two hands . . . damn, it was nice . . . so, I'm looking for my next property . . . to do it again. So, until then, I'm working on other people's wonderful homes . . . and in the meantime, I'm just trying to figure things out
I’m really good at
Listening, understanding, and communicating . . . really!
Oh, and I love slow dancing . . . cheek-to-cheek
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my 'John Lennon' glasses. I get many comments on them. Then it better be my blue eyes, dammit! Then . . . gotta be my easy demeanor and big smile . . . oh, hell, I have no idea. I guess you'd have to ask them
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies- Apocalypse Now is my favorite movie, though not for the reasons you think. Love Actually- If you're not in tears when Jamie (Colin Firth) proposes to Aurelia in the Portuguese restaurant balcony scene, you're not human. His Girl Friday- 1940 Screwball comedy w/ Cary Grant & Roz Russell: Walter: "We've been in worse jams than this, haven't we, Hildy?" Hildy: "Nope." Dr Strangelove, you gotta love the war room scene. Airplane- the cockpit scene: "Hey, you're Kareem Abdul-Jabbar . . ." Ocean's Eleven (2001) the cocktail lounge scene: Tess: "He doesn't make me cry."
Music- Steely Dan, Giles Reaves, Miles Davis, Oscar Peterson, Manhattan Transfer, David Gilmour, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Sting, anything on NPR, Turtle Island String Quartet, big brass swing, ambient 'space' music, chorale. Samuel Barber's "Agnus Dei," Oleta Adams singing "Get Here," Paul Anka's cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit," Sarah McLaughlin "Arms of the Angel."
Books- Moyers On Democracy, BD Moyers; Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, WS Shirer; The Making of the President (the Kennedy one) TH White; Surely You're Joking Mr Feinman, RP Feinman; The Best and the Brightest, D Halberstam; Sarah Vowell, David Sadaris, Garrison Keillor, anything Twain, anything Shakespeare, anything Calvin and Hobbes, Doonesbury.
Food- A good meat loaf & mashed potatoes (Cheesecake Factory has a great one), tuna on 5-grain wheat & spaghetti-o's, a Reuben from 'Too Jays', linguini & white clam sauce, eggs over easy & burnt hash browns, Cuban coffee, any kind of wine, white chocolate
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How long will it be before we end up living in a theocratic oligarchy, what would it take to halt its advance, and is it really possible to fool all of the people all of the time?
On a typical Friday night I am
Working late. I never got off early on a Friday in my life. Thinking about how much laundry I can get done tonight, what am I going to do about dinner, do I have any wine in the fridge, is football season ever going to start?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I wear 'tighty-whitey' bikini briefs . . . if that ain't doin' it for ya, oh well . . . and what brainless idiot thought up boxer shorts anyway? "Hmmm . . . think I'll put a pair of shorts on under my pants . . . just a whole bunch of material that doesn't do a whole helluva lot . . . under my pants"
