I can be a social butterfly, but I have strong introvert tendencies; I do much better 1-1 or in small groups than large parties.
I enjoy intellectual conversations, as well as the sweetness of simply being present with someone. About five years ago, through meditation and tantric yoga, I began to experience the power and joy of mindfulness and simple presence; I'd love to connect with someone who is also interested in slowing down and living more mindfully.
With a partner, I enjoy planning travel & adventures, cooking, doing home projects, going on hikes, playing games, and going to music and cultural events.
My passions include:
meditation and spirituality / dance, esp. Cuban Salsa / yoga / nature / social justice / holistic health / somatic therapy / energy work / tantric yoga / education / travel / anything involving water / crafts & DIY projects / hugs and touch
My background is in Social Work, and I'll always hold social justice values close to my heart. Now I'm fortunate to work as a school-based therapist, which gives me the autonomy I love and lots of vacation time for travel or nesting at home.
I work only four days a week and have set up my life so that work is a meaningful part of my week, not the main event.
I was voted Most Prolific Reader in the 4th grade, and it's still one of my favorite activities. Currently reading a book about the history of Autism (work-related) and a few novels.
I'm a Cuban Salsa dancer, and really enjoy Afro-Brazilian and other kinds of dance too. A huge yes to dance, yoga, movement and being in our bodies!
One time I started a cookie business when I lived in Colombia. My friend and I made the PERFECT, taste-tested chocolate chip cookies and sold them in parks where people hung out drinking and smoking weed. We called it Las Munchies (with a Spanish pronunciation), introducing a new word to the Spanglish lexicon.
