My self-summary
I am passionate about music, listening to it, discovering new artists, playing it, singing it... I especially love folk, old country, bluegrass, indie music. Love early music too.
I love to read. I go through thematic phases in which I immerse myself in an author's universe (slightly obsessive at times).
I have recently discovered improvised theater and am hoping to muster up the courage to give it a go myself.
I am also passionate about my work in special education. It is creative, intellectually stimulating and it makes me very happy every day.
What I’m doing with my life
Being a mom, friend, sister, teacher.
Being as loving and present as I can.
I’m really good at
Writing letters to crass landlords in Montreal. Writing a song about going up and down stairs and perhaps another about leafy greens. Being a loyal friend.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: Gillian Welch, Nick Drake, Tim and Jeff Buckley, Leif Vollebekk, My Brightest Diamond, Leonard Cohen, Bach

Books I recently enjoyed: The Orenda and Three Day Road (Joseph Boyden), the Elena Ferrante series, Beloved (Toni Morrison), All My Puny Sorrows (Miriam Toews), The Year Of Magical Thinking (Joan Didion), La Femme Qui Fuit (Anais Barbeau-Lavalette)
The six things I could never do without

Things to read
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My son, how sweet and funny he is. My students, how they learn, what moves them, how I can be a better teacher. How to maximize the growth of the tomato plant on my balcony. Words that are just right, stories that move me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Rushing to a pool with my son and having dinner with friends.
