My self-summary
My best friend’s an actress. Arriving to one audition, she desperately needed to go to the bathroom. Verifying she had a few minutes before being called in, she raced out to find one. Couldn’t. Tried opening random doors, finally found a toilet. Thank God. Raced in, did her business, went to flush… and nothing happened. Was it broken? No, because she realized there was no water in the toilet. Because looking around… what she thought was a tiny private restroom was actually the theatre’s prop room…She just sh*t in the prop toilet. Now, she’s panicking, because on top of that, she’s late for her audition. So she rushes back. On the way, she passes this old guy who had also been inquiring about the bathroom’s whereabouts. After finishing her audition, she notices on her way out that people are mulling around that prop room… And as she sneaks out, overhears someone tell their friend, “Oh, it’s disgusting. This old guy came in and sh*t in the prop toilet."

I love stories and storytelling. That’s how I ended up in this town. I lived in NYC working as a comic book editor and had no desire in the world to leave. But I was made an offer to come out here to take a job in TV development, and it’s been a lot of fun. I love New York, though, and try to get back as often as I can.
What I’m doing with my life
It’s crazy how fast time flies. I’m starting my third year in LA, and I’ve been immersed in so many new things since I got here it’s just made me want to get immersed in that much more. I love being introduced to new places. I’m excited by people and things that challenge how I think and am looking forward to finding someone who’ll do all that with me. Oh, and if there’s a better place out here for sushi than Sugarfish, let me know, ‘cuz… wow.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Since straight-up lists can be boring, let’s mix this up a bit. My favorite authors are Grace Paley, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Italo Calvino. The latest book I’m reading is Detroit: An American Autopsy. I can talk about comics for hours; the latest one I’m enjoying is called Powers.

The last movie I saw that made me want to read the book is The Life of Pi. My top four romantic comedies are: Annie Hall, Chasing Amy, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and When Harry Met Sally. The best movie about a break-up is 2046. The best love story I’ve ever watched is Brokeback Mountain.

My two favorite shows of all time are The West Wing and The Wire. The show I’m most eagerly looking forward to coming back is Sherlock. The latest show I quit watching is Community. The show I’m currently binging on is The Killing. The show I most regret not watching yet is Friday Night Lights. My biggest guilty pleasure is a raunchy British quiz show called Celebrity Juice.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I’ve started collecting stories about people’s awkward handshakes / greetings. My favorite so far is a guy who went to high-five his friend as she was giving him a kiss on the cheek. Bam.

If you’re looking for someone to explore the city with. You love what you do but enjoy pushing yourself to be more than what you do. You love the arts and love having people to talk about it with. You can be goofy and enjoy laughing at yourself. You enjoy hearing different viewpoints. You agree that sometimes two people disagreeing about things they love can lead to the start of a great conversation not necessarily the end of one.
