My self-summary
I grew up on a horse farm a couple of miles from Canada in New York. It was very cold, so I moved to LA about 10 years ago. I work in marketing. I like wit that is dry, awkward, and aware of itself. I curse more than necessary and rarely get offended. I read a lot. I like to cook. I think hiking is boring. I think Legos are awesome.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm just a normal, functioning member of the human race, and there is no way anyone can prove otherwise.
I’m really good at
Making recommendations. Cooking. Carrom. Air hockey. Excel.
The first things people usually notice about me
I always have a shitty haircut.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have very strong, often unpopular opinions on pop culture.

Chris Bachelder, David Foster Wallace, George Saunders, Raymond Chandler, Cormac McCarthy (except for the Road), Calvin and Hobbes, Scott Pilgrim, Phillip K. Dick and Robert Heinlein, Joe Abercrombie, Tom Drury, and Arkady and Boris Strugatsky.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, anything with Beat Takeshi, Big Trouble in Little China, Wet Hot American Summer, any Terry Gilliam pre-2000, Some Like it Hot, The Long Goodbye, Kill List, Evil Dead 2, Terminator 2, Idioacracy, Hot Fuzz, Barcelona, Wrong Cops, Detention, the Iron Giant.

Danger 5, Todd and the Book of Pure Evil, Black Books, Rick and Morty, The Wire, the IT Crowd, Peep Show, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Spaced, Firefly, Party Down, MTV's the Head, The Kids in the Hall, Cowboy Bebop ,Sifl and Olly. And I am really looking forward to High Maintenance.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Pavement, the Ponys, Kyuss, Man Man, The Fun Lovin' Criminals, Ted Leo

I like trying new things. I have about 20 lbs of moose in my freezer.
The six things I could never do without
my lego deathstar. a connection to the internet. the once or twice a year I get to see my sister. garlic salt. a book to read. whiskey.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whatever media I just consumed. Themes for pub crawls.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing whatever it takes to recover from the week, possibly at a place with no cover, no dress code, and cheap drinks, or fun apartment activities, with very nice drinks. Or maybe playing modern board games, the fun ones, not things like Risk or Monopoly that only ever end when someone finally loses it and kicks over the board.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I usually find anything terribly embarrassing to also be terribly entertaining, so I am not all that private about much.
You should message me if
For any of the following: You want to critically dissect how JJ Abrams movies are THE WORST. You know of some restaurant that has a great backstory or weird cuisine. You want to book talk. You think Pappys is the greatest and you need to be educated. You like British comedies.
