My self-summary
Preface: There seems to be no end to the number of non-American men (hey, maybe some are even women) on this site who put up fake profiles to look like regular American Joes and send emails using poor English. How many women fall for these jokers??

I am a woman of substance, intelligent, a college grad (Baldwin Wallace), who was once married and is no more and harbors no resentment, animosity or hostility toward the ex. It was a long time ago and the union produced a wonderful (now adult) child. I have been self-sufficient for quite awhile and am used to my independence, but am looking forward to spending time with someone whose company I enjoy and vice versa, and who, ideally, I will come to miss when he's not been around for awhile. He must be a man of his word. Chemistry eludes me and it certainly doesn't come through the computer, which is the main stumbling block of this method of attempting to meet someone. Looks in no way guarantee chemistry. (And, outdated pictures serve no good purpose). Anyway, when I'm not spending time longing for (you?) or working, (I work for a law firm, but no, am not an attorney), I am exercising, or reading, walking or meditating, spending time w/family or friends and trying never to forget all there is, has been and will be to be thankful for. DESIRED AGE RANGE: 47-57. Thanks.

I am soft-spoken, bright, and a lady

Oh, and I wouldn't do well with a man who is retired. WAY too early in life for that scene.

What I’m doing with my life
At this moment, probably wasting time trying to answer this question.
I’m really good at
Analytical processes, e.g. trying to decide if I really want to, and should, stay on this site. Any "normal" people, okay, relatively normal people here?
The first things people usually notice about me
I honestly do not know, but they probably get the wrong impression because I'm really not "stuck-up." I have been told I'm "unapproachable," which probably really isn't all bad.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
BOOKS: TOO many books and authors to mention here. Oh, but I have just discovered a fantastic new (new to me) author by the name of Stan Pottinger. Wow.
MOVIES: Do they make any good movies anymore? MUSIC: A wide variety, including Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Rait & Melissa Etheridge; Manhattan Transfer & NY Voices; Andrea Bocceli & Josh Groban, Bette Midler & Linda Ronstadt; Queen & Alabama (Queen and Alabama??) - just all over the place w/music. Classical - especially Mozart, but not opera. FOOD: Try to eat an apple a day, but not the biggest, or the most sensible, eater. I do love chocolate.
The six things I could never do without
Besides the most obvious, e.g. oxygen:

1. God
2. Family
3. Books
4. Sunshine
5. Exercise
6. Work (in some form)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Just drew a blank.
On a typical Friday night I am
Oh, this'll be exciting. Usually catching up on household chores.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I miss my mother.
You should message me if
If you don't smoke, are not an avid drinker, are mentally and financially stable and you are so moved.
