My self-summary
I'm genuine, thoughtful and sincere. I have a very strong sense of justice. I'm open to finding a meaningful match.

I'm a realist, I'm fair, I'm principled, I'm kind, I'm a poet, I'm moderately complex, I'm sometimes impatient (you'd have to know me to know;)
What I’m doing with my life
I write. I paint. I determine ways to make businesses run more effectively and efficiently. I spend a lot of my time thinking and observing my environment. I also build strong relationships.
I’m really good at
Articulating and simplifying complex ideas. I'm also very thoughtful and compassionate, but I am extremely good at taking care of myself and protecting the interest of the people I care about. I'm kind to strangers most of the time. I like to do simple things that are nice and then disappear before anyone feels compelled to thank me. Simple examples are carrying bags up the stairs for women or old people, or getting an extra ticket to a museum and giving it to people waiting in line behind me. Not paying mortgages, or raising orphans, but simple gestures that mean so much to me when I receive them - on the rare occasion that I do.
The first things people usually notice about me
People compliment me on my smile often. People note my confidence and ability to clearly articulate what is happening around me and with me. I also have a dark sense of humor which can be clever but intimidating to some people. You are not one of them, you will be fine :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love self help and self improvement ideas. I digest them and apply what I like or what I think will work. Eat That Frog is a good one and The Obstacle is The Way is another that I've read in 2016 (along with Grit, Originals, The One Thing, etc)

I grew up in a house with hundreds of books so I've read a lot of classics and I enjoy poems. From a practical perspective though, I rarely read fiction.
The six things I could never do without
My phone
The edge of a sheet or pillow case (ever since I was a kid, I needed that in my ear to go to sleep)
My family and closest friends
Life-long learning
Quiet time
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Self improvement, the things happening around me, finding someone special to lavish with attention, assuming they deserve it. Making my future successful.
On a typical Friday night I am
Taking it easy. Maybe I'm at dinner, maybe making dinner. Maybe drinking scotch. Usually enjoying myself.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I like the warehousing of people. I think that dating sites are such warehouses, very much like an IKEA or your favorite outlet. The vast majority of things there you certainly dont need, and much of it you dont want.. You go anyway, look, touch, turn away; yet, with some feeling of satisfaction for simply having been there, though quite possibly with a sense of overwhelmed anxiety. Too much "noise".. Either way, at least on a dating site, it takes me mere seconds to get there and I dont have to get ready. And nobody, except some of the people already secretly there can see me. We nod, wink and smile on occasion, but generally go our own separate ways.. And put up walls, like "responds very selectively". Lets put them all the way in the back, but on a bottom shelf..
You should message me if
If you know who you are or are actively trying to find out. If you have at least considered who you would want to love if your family and friends had no opinion.

You value family. You value loyalty. I've got an excellent sense of humor, but you realize that there is considerably more to any relationship than merely my ability to make you laugh. Message me if you're open minded.

I don't respond to messages that seem mass produced, not personally tailored, or indicate no thought. Just to be fair.
