My self-summary
I believe that nobody, including myself, can be "summarized." As such, I'm going to write choice interesting facts about myself with the hope that it will give a somewhat holistic picture.

Interests: Academically I like just about everything. I chose biological engineering because it uses a wide variety of fields from math to physics. I've also been known to like history and art. Outside of academics, I believe random skills are always fun, so I've done a variety of things including kendo, archery, aikido, and swing dancing. I'm not horribly good at any of those, but I hope to pursue them more after grad school. Outside of that, I also like to write - fiction, thought experiments, reviews, and whatever else I get inspired to put on paper.

If you want to see my writing, I've decided to link to my Google site which contains some of it:

Interests that I haven't explored but want to: art (drawing) and horseback riding. One of my childhood dreams is to do mounted archery, because it's awesome (what do you mean it's not awesome?!).

Sports: I played in my department's intramural soccer team, just to have something active to do. Otherwise, not a huge sports person.

Personality: I value compassion and genuine-ness (is that a word?) above most things. I'm an extremely loyal friend and I will be there to support my friends whenever they need me.

Humor: I have a sarcastic sense of humor and I love pulling pranks on/trolling my friends, all in good fun. I generally come across as being pure pureness in its purest form, but I can and will make inappropriate jokes at times, shocking my friends. I'm not THAT innocent. Well, maybe I am.

Myers-Briggs: INFJ
Hogwarts house: Hufflepuff
DnD alignment: Neutral good
Fantasy class: "Bow and sword, in accord."
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a biomedical engineering PhD candidate at Johns Hopkins. In the future I either want to be a professor of engineering or to work in the NIH.
I’m really good at
Not giving up on problems. Trolling my friends, but also being supportive when they need me to be.

I'm particularly good at avoiding questions about what things I'm really good at. ^_^
The first things people usually notice about me
If I'm wearing one of my "evil bunny" shirts, they tend to notice that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Mostly sci-fi or fantasy. My favorite series when I was younger was the Sword of Truth series. I've been trying to read more lately after not reading much for several years due to school.

Movies: The Avengers is probably my favorite movie right now. I'm looking forward to Marvel Phase II (and hope they don't run out of ideas and make the franchises bad). I like most movies, even the ones with lackluster plots. I mostly watch movies for action. If I wanted a good plot, I'd read a book or even play an RPG.

Shows: I actually don't tend to watch a lot of TV, primarily because I don't own one. That means I can list off the shows I have watched pretty easily: The Simpsons, Family Guy, Dark Angel (first season only), Firefly, Heroes (first season only), Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Boy Meets World. For nonfiction shows, there's Bill Nye the Science Guy and Wishbone.

Music: It depends on my mood. I listen more to melody rather than to lyrics. If I find a song I like, I'm one of those people who will play it like 200 times in a row (don't worry, I only do this when I'm alone). My favorite song of all time is Mei Li De Shen Hua (Endless Love).

Food: Not sure if I have a favorite, since I eat all sorts of cuisines. I'm pretty open to trying new things, except dairy and shellfish. I'm lactose intolerant and I've got shellfish allergies.
The six things I could never do without
Hot water in the shower. I'm very particular about this one.

Video games. While I don't play video games for days on end, a good game is my primary way of relaxing if nobody's free to hang out.

My friends and family. I wouldn't be anywhere without them.

Coffee in the morning. I get a headache without it.

Something interesting to do. I hate being bored.

My glasses, if you need me to read something. I'm far-sighted, so I can navigate my environment just fine without them, but put a book in front of me and I need my glasses to read.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to progress my research. It's harder than you'd think. While this is what I think about at work, my mind does tend to fly around at other times. Here is a sampling of what I've thought about lately:

1. What kind of mentor I'd be if I ever make it to being a professor. My friend says that my students may not get my sense of humor, but I'd totally be a chill, informal professor.
2. How cool it would be to have an Iron Man suit, but then I'd have to worry about the government hassling me and possibly threatening those close to me.
3. What prank to pull next on my friends. Plans for pranks usually just pop into my head. But after the initial idea appears, I will iron out details for the prank far in advance so the execution can be perfect. *goes off to laugh maniacally
3a. Why does maniacal laughter relieve stress? What biochemical factors are released during maniacal laughter and how do they interact wit - NNNEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRD!!!!11!!1!
4. What will happen next to the characters in my light novel and how they'll react meaningfully.
5. What project to do next ("project" could mean anything I do for fun, such as making posters or drawing horribly-drawn comics).
On a typical Friday night I am
If my friends are free and up for hanging out, I'm usually with them playing some sort of game (board games or table-top RPGs, mostly). Otherwise I like to chill at home - maybe do some writing if I'm inspired.

That being said, if you've got something interesting in mind for Friday that doesn't involve getting drunk & clubbing, then let me know!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Depends on your definition of "private." Why don't I just put a factoid in here?

I have the Team Rocket motto as well as the theme songs of the first four seasons of Pokémon memorized. I sometimes sing them in the shower. In fact, before my SAT in high school, I sang them in the shower to pump myself up.
