In my spare time, usually film festivals, geeking out over movies at the Alamo Drafthouse, an occasional weekend collaboration for "guerrilla-filmmaking" contest or theater. Other times, I'm working on new skills or catching a roller derby bout. I travel often, usually for some adventure in the wilderness. You wanna explore? I'm game. Let's go!
I'm fun-loving, perpetually curious, irreverent, liberal, a little punk rock and love an adventure. If you're like this too, let's do this!
I'm doing pretty ok with el job, but always looking to sharpen the skills. Taking some coding classes at night & brushing up other times. I smell like a coffee shop these days.
Wandering the earth and trips are usually pretty spontaneous. I may be out of town right now.
I grew a beard. That's the latest...
Food: Jeez it's everywhere in this town. Where to even start!? Food trucks...ok let's start there.
Music: old stuff includes Queen, Fugazi, Bowie, Public Enemy, New Order, Roxy Music, The Clash, Cro Mags, Teenage Fanclub, Joy Division, Fear, old WaxTrax stuff, Yes, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Uncle Tupelo, More recent era stuff: Spoon, Wilco, Florence + The Machine, Future Islands, Chvrches, Saint Ettiene. Have lots of musician friends so hit live shows pretty often.
Movie directors: Coens, Tarantino, Cronenberg, Cuaron, Guillermo del Toro, David Fincher, Dario Argento
Movies: Kill Bill, Children of Men, Fargo, City of God, Blazing Saddles, Oldboy, Henry V, Pan's Labyrinth, Boogie Nights, Vampire's Kiss, Let the Right One In. The Secret in Their Eyes (Argentina, not the remake)
Lots of independent & foreign film. I'm at the Arbor Cinema, Marchesa and Violet Crown a lot. Documentaries...and I love horror movies. 90% are unwatchable, but I dig the classics and the 10% that are actually good. It's totally ok if you don't like horror movies btw.
TV: I f-ing love peak TV! Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead and catching up on Game of Thrones. John Oliver. Sanford and Son is an old favorite. Stranger Things and The Handmaid's Tale...damn!
