I don't need to be impressed by your music collection or knowledge of 70's cinema, but I will enjoy learning about and discussing whatever moves you. I have very strong political opinions and have devoted my life to something I believe in, but I hate electoral politics and tend to avoid much of the public debate. With that said, I am decidedly and unapologetically about as left as you can get. I'm a fantastic dinner party guest. Oh, and I spend much more time in friends' kitchens and living rooms than in bars these days.

Borges, Calvino, The Russians, Joseph Roth. Just finished Call It Sleep by Henry Roth. Highly recommend.
