My self-summary
I was born in the future, grew up in the past trying to protect a waitress who was targeted for termination by a cyborg from the future...oh wait... that wasn't me... that was "The Terminator". I am just some "dude" who found myself in a gargantuan mess of events when I was mistaken for another guy named Lebowski. No, come to think of it, that wasn't me either. That was the Jeff Bridges in "The Big Lebowski".

Anyway, I digress (but at least I have the "My favorite Movies" section covered).

Back to what I am looking for and how I perceive a healthy relationship (I do however realize that there are bumps along the way) ....

We are down to earth, intellectually curious and comfortable in our own skin

We are both supportive of each other, and are capable of showing gratitude and affection, yet not afraid to poke fun at each other now and then

We consciously try to bring out the best in each other, helping each other follow our hearts and intuition to discover who we really want to become

We are secure enough in ourselves and our relationship to think and be independent of each other, and provide honest feedback to each other when needed

We see travel as a source of education, and see ourselves as citizens of the world vs. Chicagoans or Americans

We are both physically comfortable with our bodies, and we understand the importance of exercise, nutrition, so we enjoy being active and eating healthy

We enjoy cooking and entertaining together (or you at least enjoy helping me in the kitchen and / or keep me company) and maybe incorporating some new vegetarian, vegan, and raw food recipes into our diet

We like to be outside in nature – walking, hiking, biking, camping, gardening, doing yoga, whatever ….

We value kindness, compassion and honesty – If we are not happy with the other, we talk about it. We do not cheat on each other, nor do we hang with any friends who we know cheat on their significant others.

We are comfortable exploring life outside the box, because we avoid being trapped by dogma (living with the results of other people’s thinking), and don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out our own inner voices

We are honest and vulnerable in communicating our hopes, expectations and fears, and we try not to sweat the small stuff (which is pretty much everything)

We are financially responsible by living below our means, and take pride in where we live, even working on home improvement projects together

We like to listen to live music at small venues and dance if the song moves us – even if it means being the first ones on the dance floor

We like to learn and try new things – dance lessons, Thai massage classes, meditation ...

And we like dogs who talk to us with their eyebrows (Woof)

Thanks for taking the time to read my profile and good luck

"One kind word can last a lifetime"
What I’m doing with my life
I have had several businesses and non-profit organizations before, during and after a 21 year career with Citigroup. I just finished taking classes at the Chicago Botanic Garden and am also toying with the idea of starting another bed and breakfast somewhere, but for now I am retired.
I’m really good at
Listening / Asking the right questions
Making people feel valued
Throwing dinner parties
Saving / Investing
Being Present
The first things people usually notice about me

Not sure - will get back to you on this.

My Ethics
(I know I'm over the limit - but it never happens in the Express Check Out lane)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Social Injustice / The Planet / Our Species (Why we all think and act the way we do)

And how dogs can say more with their eyes than most humans do with their lips.
On a typical Friday night I am
Contemplating global domination...or having a glass of wine with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Most private thing ... Hmm.

Well, I innerited this habit of collecting containers from my father

You can stop here unless you are really interested in knowing more - its up to you - but you may miss an opportunity for some personal growth .....

I think this behavior is due to the fact that he is 100 % German (I am 3/4), and we all know how the Germans feel about efficiency and organization.

So I have always had a few shelves that are devoted to saving small boxes and plastic containers (picture an in-house Container Store type of experience)

So far, so weird - right ?

Well, the method to this madness is to simply utilize these containers so that all of my drawers are filled with small tray like boxes and my shelves are stacked with clear boxes so I can find my shit when I need it

So I guess we were always "green" and just never knew it.

The End
You should message me if
You are curious & might enjoy the company of an INTJ
