My self-summary
Been here in Amman, Jordan, for almsot 3 years. I also travel to Israel and sometimes Palestine every few months so don't be afraid to connect if you're there. I'm a very unique guy and am looking for the same in a girl.

I'm very high-energy and love high energy in a partner. I view life as a learning experience, an adventure, a chance to make a difference, and a chance to connect with people. Ultimately, life for me isn't about things or some ancient concept of "God" of gods, it's about people and the experiences/connections you can share with them.

I see myself having crazy, intellectual, deep, goofy, and silly
conversations with my partner in crime. Lots of dancing, exploring, traveling (Been to Europe, Japan, Cuba, Liberia, Israel, Palestine's West Bank, and the DR to name a few), cuddling while watching movies, hopefully even working out and watching and playing sports together, maybe even video games or the occasional Risk too.

Reading the same book together and discussing is sexy to me. I expect a lot and give a lot, and hope to find someone who can keep up with my energy and diverse interests.

Ideally, we'd share some major interests but would also push and stretch each other in new directions. And if you have a consciousness of yourself as a citizen of the world, think there's more to life than just you and your immediate circle, that's a huge plus too.

It's really hard to box me into any one personality type. I'm not simple but I do enjoy the simple as well as the complex, the high brow and low brow, the calm and the exciting moments. I might be sophisticated but if you're rude to your waiter I'll judge you on that more. A good education doesn't mean you can't be down to earth. Physical attraction is very important to me (sex is not unimportant lol) but MOST important is how we click and the ability for us to grow and challenge each other over time. Having an outstanding sense of humor and being able to laugh at yourself as well as me is very important too. I'm not an atheist, I do think there's something but that it's beyond human comprehension and that no faith has it right. Tolerance is important, and if you're moderately religious and not obsessed that's fine by me :-) If you think like me even better. I've actually read a lot about religion and philosophy in the last few years so I have this belief as someone who is very informed.

I earned a master's relatively recently and am focusing on finding a way to apply it, will likely travel a lot for my living, but for the right girl I'm ready to make things work and give it a shot. If you're cool, a good person, have diverse interests, and think you can keep up, we need to talk.

Careers are an important part of life, and I'll admire your job if it's a cool one but you should be able to talk about something else besides work. Being smart, ambitious, and successful--like most people here--isn't sufficient to make you a good person, that has a lot to do with how you treat other people and the intangibles of your personality. I feel like a lot of people use other people here, but you won't get that with me.

PS- I love my NY teams, my Jets, Knicks, Rangers (suck it Caps), Mets, St. John's and Uconn!
What I’m doing with my life
You can see a lot of my writing here: I earned my M.S. in Peace Operations and now time to put it into practice, and to that end, I'm here pursuing a new phase of my life and am very excited about this!!! I just finished a project in international development as a contractor for a USAID project and I also freelance as a writer and a consultant, mainly writing about international affairs, policy, politics, and history, and I'm also editing.
I’m really good at
Chatting, debating, philosophizing, demolishing conservative
constructs with reality, dancing, keeping a high-energy level,
being patient, understanding, listening (when I'm not talking lol).
Call of duty, defense in basketball, running, and being charming
(but only if I find you charming). Oh, and writing papers on all
kinds of interesting shit!!! And, making history relevant to today.
The first things people usually notice about me
My red hair, my energy, and my love of talking

Six things I could never do without
Great Conversation
Human connection
Good-hearted human beings
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The world's problems, how soon the Jets will win a superbowl, how crazy people are, metaphysics/meaning of life, ancient Rome, friends and family, being upset at HBO for canceling its best shows, book ideas, finding that special someone lol
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can be too open...
You should message me if
-you're enjoying reading this
-you can keep up with me
-you're a grown woman who knows what she wants and is comfortable and confident in your own skin, but still has a little but of that fun, teenage girl in you
-you can respect that I'm in transition after finishing my master's and don't expect me to be an instant provider
-you give people the benefit of the doubt until they give you a reason not to

A few other things to consider ladies-

1.) I'm here to meet people, not have an e-friend or exchange tons of e-mails/IMs

2.)And I'm here to date. While I'm not against making new friends here my preference is definitely to try dating

3.) mixed or confusing signals are a real pet peeve. To some degree you should mean what you say, say what you mean, and be who you really are. That's not so say you have to be super-direct, and sure, we all have insecurities and things we might not want to share right away, but do please be fairly happy with who you are and unafraid to just be yourself.

Also, I'm in a sort transitional phase right now, so you have to be cool with going dutch in the beginning. I don't think money should be factor when you're first starting to meet. That being said, when I've had more money in the past, I've been, and like to be, generous with people I care about and know well!

I realize that a lot of people like games and pretending to be other people for various reasons, that this might be asking for a lot, but that's how I roll: I ask for a lot but am willing to give a lot in return.

If you feel the same way about all this you should definitely e-mail me lol
