My self-summary
I've spent a couple years in Cameroon and a couple years in Korea and a couple years in the Bering Strait. My most marketable skill is a willingness to go where the jobs are. Right now I feel like I've got enough stories, and I'd like to be able to build something before I'm too old.

I attended the National Pub Trivia League Championships last year, which was fun. Didn't do well, but I enjoyed exploring historic Las Vegas and meeting Penn & Teller.

I like people, but not too many people at once, if that makes sense.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm doing well at my job so I decided to take the plunge and buy a place here, so I'm spending more time and money than I'd like fixing it up.

I try to take in a live show every now and then.

Spending too much time on the internet.
I’m really good at
Oh my stars! Verily, 'twould be easier to list the things at which I am NOT good at, HAHA!

Truly, if I had to narrow it down to but one talent, it would be Humility. Not since Moses has there been a more humble man on this fair Earth than I.
The first things people usually notice about me
My bad haircut.

My dour expression or my goofy smile depending on what kind of day I'm having. I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:

I finally decided to take the plunge and give Kurt Vonnegut a shot. Everyone who told me was good was trying to tell me how deep and important he was, but nobody bothered mentioning he was funny! Clever comedy of manners type stuff. I highly recommend.

Movies:

Mostly Horror Comedies or something with low budget charm.

T.V.

Right now I'm following Bob's Burgers, New Girl, Supergirl & Elementary. Not a lot of good TV right now.

Music:

I listen to a lot of Nerd Music (not necessarily nerdcore) and music that was popular in the late ‘90s and early aughts. I’m open to new stuff and older stuff, but music is more about comfort than adventure for me.

Food:

I'm usually up for anything.
The six things I could never do without
1....Hot Showers or Warm Baths

2...2...2 for My Family

3...Dopey (all other dwarves are immaterial)

4...Morning Joe and Comfy Shoes

5...Seeing dogs or little kids as I walk down the street.

6...BBQ

Seriously, I'm a simple guy. I've lived in extreme hostile conditions, and I know how to do without.

There's stuff that's important to me, that can't be taken away, that I'm not sure I can put into words. Talk to me and I'll try.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'm a worrier.

I'm a big dork and so I spent a lot of time thinking about dork stuff.
On a typical Friday night I am
Mostly holed up at my place listening to music, watching movies and/or playing a game of Civilization or Maniac Mansion.

I'm of course willing to go out with someone, that's why I'm on this site, but I don't really like going out on my own.
You should message me if
...you want to meet up in person or exchange phone numbers pretty quickly. I'm trying to build more relationships with other humans and fewer with my computer.

...you like writing big essays about whatever you're interested about and don't mind reading essays in return.

I am interested in other people and will do my best to be interesting in return.
