My self-summary
Summarizing myself might be tricky. Lets see... I'm tall, skinny, and only a bit of a dork. I like music and food and books and theater and dancing. That being said, I cannot for the life of me dance well at all. But that doesn't stop me trying.

I recently got out of a relationship that lasted far longer than it should have. Seven years is a long time, and when something that important ends, it takes a part of you with it. Currently, I'm working on picking up the pieces and getting on with it. I let a lot of my friendships lapse the last few months, while trying to work things out with my partner, leaving me with a rather reduced pool of good people I can call my friends. I guess that's more or less why I'm here. I'm not here looking for a soul-mate, or even a mate at all, though I'm open to the idea. Right now, I just want to meet people, talk to them, get to know them, and work from there.

I'm a pretty friendly person, and I try to be as polite as I can in public. That said, sailors blush when they hear me curse, and with friends my language and tastes tend towards the profane.

I've been told that I have a chameleon-like personality. That being, I mold myself to fit whatever situation I find myself in. Apparently, children of narcissistic parents are very good at that sort of thing. This has left me with a rather thin understanding of my REAL personality, who I am when I'm not around someone else. I guess that's another reason why I'm here.

I'm a bit of a geek, and love wasting time playing video games or reading books. I've been getting out and doing active things more, recently, to keep my mind off of my recent relationship troubles. I find that I'm liking it, actually. Biking around town, exploring storm drains, climbing trees... my inner child has never been so happy.

Generally, I'm a pretty physical person. Tussling with friends, hello and goodbye hugs, cuddling on a couch, hair-tousling and hand-holding; these are all wonderful things. Recently, I've been shying away from physicality, because of all the memories associated with my last relationship. This is something I will not stand, and I've been working hard to cure myself of.

Speaking of shy... yeah. With strangers, I tend towards silence and polite smiles. With strangers I think are cute, I usually forget myself and open my mouth and spill out awkward drivel. (something else I'm trying to work on). Apparently, some people think shy and awkward are cute. They have obviously never been the shy or awkward one. :-P

So, that's me, in all my glory. Equal parts bad-ass and dork, with a killer smile and a heart of something-not-quite-gold-but-valuable-enough.
What I’m doing with my life
I love telling stories. Have since I was little. I gravitated towards theater and acting early on, and have made a career (of sorts) working for a local theater company as a deckhand while I pursue a degree in acting. Community college and a rather unpredictable part-time job make for an interesting life. Though given the choice, I'll choose interesting over most anything else. So... yay?
I’m really good at
Reading books super fast. Babbling non-frikkin-stop about things that interest me. Most video games that involve either strategy or explosions. Making shit up as I go along. Also, I can make a mean chicken piccata.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told I frown a lot. I disagree, mainly because a frown implies unhappiness, and I'm generally rather content. What people seem to take as an angry frown is generally just me thinking about something, or concentrating hard on a task.

Other than that... probably something like "He's tall" or "Hey asshole, get out of that tree!" or "Dude... you know that you're on fire?" Something along those lines.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Oh man. I do like me some things. For books... well, anything by Neal Stephenson is well worth my time. Terry Goodkind and his Seeker series are not bad, though the second and third books are a bit... well, bad.

I don't watch much TV, but Netflix is amazing. Thus, I've been exposed to HUUUUUUUGE amounts of amazing shows, like The West Wing, Warehouse 13, Better Off Ted.. man, the list goes on. Far, far too many to mention here, for sure.

Music is easy. I like anything good. That said, I've taken a particular interest in an artist named Mihkal, a bay area local. His sound is a perfect compliment for many of my favorite activities.

Choosing a favorite food is like choosing a favorite flavor of air. It doesn't matter what the dish is supposed to be, it's all in the preparation.

That said, chocolate is kind of the best thing ever.

Pizza is pretty nice, too.
Six things I could never do without
We'll kip over the obvious, like food and air, and the banal, like my family or friends. Put simply, I don't want to live without interesting things to occupy my mind. I abhor boredom, and as long as I have something to do/see/think about, I'm set.
The sun on my back, the wind in my hair, and a smile on my face.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Flying. What, you don't?
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably working. If not, then at a bar or house with friends. Unless they're working, instead. Then I'd be at home, reading, drinking, playing, or whatever else tickles my fancy.

On rare occasions, I even study on Friday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
To a stranger? Absolutely nothing.

To you? Sometimes I get scared. Really scared. Of absolutely nothing at all. *shrug*
You should message me if
You want to. Duh. Or if you think you might like to have a friend like me. Or if you think I"m cute, though I try to never bank on that sort of thing.
The two of us
