My self-summary
Well, hello there.

I moved to the Bay Area back in August 2014 after living in Boston for the past 10 years. I'm looking to meet interesting people who can show me the sights and acclimate me to the other coast.

I'm a grammar nerd and love subtle humor. I once told a potential employer I wanted the job because I wanted to be a ninja and this was the closest thing I could find (and yes, still got the job! ). One of my proudest accomplishments is having named my former a cappella group the MassWhole Notes (I'll let the joke sink in for a minute.......) I perform jazz around town, and spend my free time swimming, biking, and dancing (but certainly no tri-athlete over here).

I walk a fine line between thinking things are ridiculous and actually liking them- like my zebra print sunglasses that have rhinestones all over them (I got them for free). At first I wore them because they were so ridiculous I felt like the creator should get some credit for it, and I thought they were so ugly they had to be worn. But when they broke, I bought another pair. Now I'm confused why I wear them.

I'm very happily married (and my partner knows I'm on this site), and am looking for friends that can expose me to new and exciting things. If anything develops from there, awesome. If not, awesome. I'm just looking for life to be a little less serious all the time!
What I’m doing with my life
I work towards creating the world I want to live in and empowering others to as well. I love that there's a challenge every day, that I'm constantly learning new things. It's pretty badass.

I'm also exploring what it could mean to make music and singing a more significant part of my life.
I’m really good at
I can burp on command.

I could also kick your ass at air hockey, and I'm really good at trash talking.

If I hear a song 3 times, I know almost all the words.
The first things people usually notice about me
My middle school yearbook says it's my smile, and since it was right about so many other superlatives long-term, it must be true for me!
Six things I could never do without
The letter T and the number 5-- both are out of commission on my home computer, and you'd be surprised how frequently it comes up. I've tried to avoid those two altogether, but it's pretty difficult. And because of those missing, I can't even count up to the number 6. It's tragic, really.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Community organizing and what amazing things we are capable of doing once the revolution comes (and what amazing things communities are able to do now, in the face of struggle)...and how not to take myself too seriously.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either at 90s night singing along with almost every song, or playing board games and cooking dinner with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
In High School, I was on my school's Pole Vaulting Team. The Coach told me I had potential, I just needed to work on my running and my jumping.
You should message me if
If you're interested in friendship that could become something more (or not). And you shouldn't message me if you're creepy or think that the letters "r" and "u" are words. And please don't message me without anything identifying the fact that you've read my profile. I'm not going to respond to the one-liner-I'm-messaging-everyone person.
