My self-summary
Hi everyone!
I'm just a guy in the Boston area looking for new people who'd want a +1 to hang out or go on an occasional hike. I work in a library, where I am paid to browse reddit, analyze data with occasional scripting, and be a generally charming/helpful individual. I majored in mathematics, so forgive me for occasionally derailing our conversations to discuss tangential things like the dynamics of highway traffic, or implications of alternative universe topologies (and if you can talk math back to me I'll swoon). I have a spiritual relationship with rain above anything else. I sometimes bake my friends pastries for non-special occasions. I like to think I'm very open minded, liberal, adventurous, laid back, optimistic, and I love to seek out new experiences. I'm a bit flirtatious and like to layer different meanings into what I say. I love being around people who can entertain a good debate or just as equally keep a conversation light and relaxed.

I'm currently seeing a guy that I actually met here but I'm still open to meeting people and doing fun things. I really am interested in meeting new people of all kinds, so please don't be deterred.
I’m really good at
Mixing cocktails. Maybe not professionally, but I can hold my own. Give me a stocked bar and I think can make you happy. I especially like inventive cocktail challenges. I've made drinks inspired by famous people from history (I particularly liked the Che and the Gandhi), and drinks modeled off pokemon (give me any of the 151 and I'll give you a recipe).

Folding Origami. Or more appropriately "assembling" origami. I tend to gravitate toward modular models, but I can still fold you a frog or a pelican if you so desire.

I like to teach, and I've been told I'm somewhat decent at it (okay, I've actually been told I should become a professor, but I'm trying to be modest here).
The first things people usually notice about me
People tell me I have a "unique" walk. I've yet to figure out what that means, but I'm supposedly identifiable by my gait from 100 meters away.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The Jungle, Upton Sinclair
Lolita, Invitation to a Beheading, or anything Nabokovian
I've been dabbling in Dostoevsky
Mostly textbooks and nonfiction honestly

The X-Files
Bob's Burgers
Arrested Development
Attack on Titan

Life is Beautiful
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Pulp Fiction
Kung Fu Hustle
The Shawshank Redemption
Kill Bill
Satoshi Kon and Hayao Miyazaki's work

I tend to like music that doesn't need words, like classical and electronic music. Fun fact: I associate musical sounds and beats with colors and textures. That said, my staple is usually mechanical, light blue, and translucent, but I won't mind a good dark-hued, lustrous, or even dusty beat. You should message me if you're more curious, and I'll try to come up with a more in depth explanation.

ANYTHING that isn't bland. If it's so spicy that I cry, I love it (it's a wee bit of masochistic I suppose). I try not to be picky, except I am not a big fan of seafood (but I'm trying to change that!) UPDATE: Wow, sushi, where have you been all my life!?
Six things I could never do without
1. Rainy days and thunderstorms
2. A well stocked kitchen/spice cabinet
3. Good conversations and interesting people
4. A job that makes me happy
5. My aesthetic sense.
6. Crisp autumn foliage.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Philosophical theology
How silly the Czech language sounds
What the etymologic derivation of such-and-such word is
All kinds of Math
Whether my humor would translate well in other cultures
How to construct this out of cake
What I could do to make a stranger's day
Why isn't this flavor combination the next ketchup?
Did anyone else totally misinterpret that as something dirty?
Being in the rain instead of inside
Is this bag of cherries really worth $5/lb? (It usually is)
On a typical Friday night I am
Looking for something - anything - to do.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Online, you mean? I'd probably be willing to admit a lot more in person...

When I'm at home by myself, I usually don't wear clothes. According to my friends, this is "not normal" behavior. That's too bad.
You should message me if
NO IF! Just do it.
