I work in a rehab facility for people who have suffered a traumatic brain injury, which has almost nothing to do with my major other than I can utilize my communication skills.
I double majored in news-editorial journalism and English (creative writing) at SIU. I'm amused easily by random things be they shiny or have an interesting sound. Other than that I don't know what to say here. I suppose I could tell you I write screenplays, short stories and poetry. I loathe losing fitness. I love food. I'm a decent cook but I am by no means a chef.
I'm kind of cynical but that's only because I was in journalism and you never take just one truth to be the 'end all' answer. I don't have a ton of faith in people's capacity to tell the truth or even be honest but I expect the best from people. I do absorb every detail behind their words and body language. I've learned that many people say what they think you want to hear instead of giving you their actual perception or thoughts on a matter. However, I always take chances on people.
On the flip side I LOVE cartoons and movies. I miss shows from the 90's and early 2000's such as "Hey, Arnold", "Bobby's World", "Recess", "Are You Afraid of the Dark" and "Mighty Max".
Some things I'd like to accomplish before I get too busy to do them before I retire from whatever job I'm doing are: bungy jumping, sky diving, visit the Mall of America, visit Ethiopia and Nigeria, learn to speak fluently in Spanish, tour through Central and South America, watch the Northern Lights, throw rocks at the Moon, paint the stars and drink Kool-Aid on the Great Wall of China ... with sake in it :).
Sometimes I'm "weird", which people oddly associate with good for whatever reason. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
Aside from my hair, my smile, which is stupidly huge like that freaking cat from Alice in Wonderland, garners immediate attention on first impression.
I almost tripped and fell down an uncovered sewer.
Dog saliva makes me itch.
Give me a second and I can give you a song for any scenario.
"How are you?" is the most annoying question ever.
I'm honestly open.
