My self-summary
When I'm passionate about something, I learn everything about it that I can -- so welcome to me, a big ol' information sponge.

I'm a cheesemonger, food writer, former actor/singer, cooking-obsessed food/wine/whiskey freak, baseball-loving, bike-riding, frequently foul-mouthed night owl (though not in the party animal sense). I recently moved to Brooklyn after living in Astoria for almost four years, but I hail from San Francisco, although I'm originally from Seattle, and have also managed to live in Chicago, Glasgow, and Salt Lake City. I haven't been everywhere, but it would seem I'm doing my best to change that.

I am also in an open relationship with the love of my life. She's the bee's knees, an outspoken feminist, and a total circus monkey (well, aerialist). We are totally honest with one another about playing with others, and we are also both very interested in meeting new people, friends, lovers, and couples.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to run a cheese program and practice affinage/triage without a cheese cave, attempting to learn mindfulness, working back up to regular 40-mile rides. Finding joy.
I’m really good at, massages, bad puns, singing too much, compassion, cuddling, imitating dialects, getting way too into debates about politics and film, avidly keeping encyclopaedic track of baseball statistics and cheeses, biking fast enough that the taxis don't mind me, trying to pet every single cat.
The first things people usually notice about me
My height, my curly hair, and my eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Food (because food comes first in my life): EVERYTHING. No, really, everything, and make it spicy! I'm extremely adventurous. I'll try anything once, and probably will a second or third time as cooking is kind of my zen and a means of self-expression, so I do it a lot!

Books: I'm into all sorts of stuff all over the place. Cultural history, journalism, and gonzo journalism are my soft spot. Douglas Adams and Roald Dahl are indisputably the most sensible people ever, and I'm also a big fan of Arthurian/Tolkien/Steinbeck lit, and magical fuck it, I just like books.

Movies: anything with Peter O'Toole, epic war/space movies, depressing documentaries, silly animation, Monty Python/Mel Brooks.

Music: nearly anything musical theatre other than The Sound of Music, Wagner, Bernstein, Gershwin, anything with a mean banjo, Pete Seeger, ethnic punk bands, Ben Folds, old blues and jazz and bluegrass, 90's rap/hip-hop, Kendrick Lamar, Tom Lehrer, Talking Heads, and a healthy dose of loud rock, though my favorite album of all time is Graceland.

TV: Arrested Development and Lost FTW, RuPaul's Drag Race, No Reservations, Archer, Bob's Burgers, 30 Rock, ST: TNG., Unbreakable Kimmie Schmidt, Broad City, OITNB, Agents of Shield, Rick and Morty, The Crown.
Six things I could never do without
1. Ambition.
2. Long-term memory.
3. A well stocked kitchen and pantry. Cooking is chaotic meditation.
4. Wanderlust.
5. Physical Contact. I'm very tactile.
6. A bike. My primary form of transportation, and I spoil them silly! My current one is a 2004 Colnago Dream Lux named Torpedo. Biking is also chaotic meditation.
7. The outdoors, followed by good beer.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Which subway is running, what cheese and charcuterie I have to order for the shop, whether the answer to my problems will come in the form of bourbon or cooking or kitties...
On a typical Friday night I am
Either grabbing a drink and a show with friends, wandering Manhattan, singing my lungs out at Marie's Crisis, or watching a movie with a glass of wine and something tasty I whipped up. Or, y'know, slinging cheese plates like a demon.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I happily and openly identify as bi, but am just done with dating dudes, both on OKC and in general. I have a tattoo of mold.

This makes me laugh EVERY TIME:
You should message me if
You've made it through my inability to self-edit. Seriously, please do message me -- I'm kind of terrible about making the first online move!

UPDATE: Suffice it to say, any supporters of the Trump administration need not apply. Because the following is where I'm rather certain we are headed:
