My self-summary
I've spent a non-trivial amount of time contemplating what to put here...and this is the best I've got for now. I know - 2016 continues to find new ways to disappoint, doesn't it?

A bit of background about me: I grew up in the Chicago suburbs, but came out to the bay area for college and decided to stick around afterwards since (among many other things) that meant I could avoid shoveling snow. I've been really fortunate to travel a bit over the years, including living in London for a year in college and for three months in 2014.

Empathy, humility, and humor matter a lot to me.
What I’m doing with my life
Employment-wise, I work in business development. I suppose that's a little vague, but so it goes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Outside of work: I'm working out, going on hikes, volunteering a bit, spending time with friends in the city, reading (which usually means catching up on last week's issue of the New Yorker), taking improv classes, and occasionally squeezing in hip hop dance classes. I'm also trying to practice mindfulness on a regular basis. Oh and I've been giving rock climbing a shot, because that's one of the requirements of living in SF...right?
I’m really good at
naming that song from the 90s, adding to my "to read" stack (always open to recommendations!), and not forgetting to say "please" and "thank you"
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Anything by Salman Rushdie. Some other favorites include Cutting for Stone, Cloud Atlas, Middlesex, Shantaram, and All Creatures Great & Small. Recent reads include The Child 44 Trilogy, When Breath Becomes Air, All The Light We Cannot See, The Light Between Oceans, and The Book Thief. Currently reading The Name of the Wind.

Movies: Office Space, Shawshank Redemption, Hero, and Inglorious Basterds. I also really enjoy Christopher Nolan's films.

Shows: South Park, Archer, The League, The Wire, Sherlock, Arrested Development, Narcos, and Master of None (although it was sometimes a little too on point...)

Music: Some favorites include A Tribe Called Quest, Air, Andrew Bird, Blind Pilot, Drake, Fleet Foxes, Frank Ocean, Girlyman, Guster, John Legend, Kacey Johansing, Kanye, Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, Kings of Convenience, Koop, Nujabes, Rilo Kiley, Sufjan Stevens, Tune-Yards, and Washed Out. I'm always looking to hear something new, and I'm very partial to music with a strong beat.

Food: yes
The six things I could never do without
Aside from family and friends:

* Public transit
* Physical activity/exercise/foam rolling
* Sunny days
* Wit and puns
* Space and time for reflection
* Books
I spend a lot of time thinking about
healthy living, the path to fulfillment, socioeconomic inequality, and lighter stuff like "what's for dinner?"
You should message me if
you live in SF or the East Bay, and anything above resonated with you

Also - I don't have A-list, so dropping me a note instead of starring/liking is a better bet
