Both being a Bay Area native along with being the youngest of 5 in a pretty dynamic family have both been big influences on me. My work is entrepreneurial in nature. Family lives near by so I see them regularly.
My hope is to find a life partner where we compliment each other. WE dont have to be soul mates, although that would be wonderful, but maybe helping each other develop our souls: to do what we came here to do. IT's easier this way. ;) It's hard to articulate in terms of who that special someone would be, although it will be pretty obvious when I see her. This special someone would be a bit more outgoing than I am along with being independent emotionally and financially and knows we can really assist one another in being more than the sum of our parts - basically, reaching our potential.
I could envision the relationship would be quick in terms of courting, because we are ready, including spiritually physically, emotionally and mentally. Plus, we dont want to waist each other's precious time.
Movies : The Matrix (especially interactions between Neo and three of the other main characters: the Oracle, Trinity and Morpheus); Just saw My Cousin Vinnie, Life of Pi, The Girl Next Door, Sleepwalking with Me, Leap Year (very cute Romantic Comedy, Mao's Last Dancer, Forest Gump, Sideways, Crash, Terms of Endearment, Saturday Night Fever, Titanic, Animal House, Caddyshack, The Truman Show, The Cable Guy (highly underrated), Dumb and Dumber, Legally Wed, Management, Dirty Dancing, Fargo, The Godfather, Goodfellas, Its a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Sex and Other Drugs, Sex, Lies and Videotapes, Old School, The Secret (from a spiritual perspective), Pretty Woman, Fargo, etc
Note: As you can see, very eclectic and not always the most mature of films. Dark comedy is a vice of mine.
TV includes HBOgo : Enlightened, Hung, The Killing, The Mentalist, CNBC Restaurant Startup, Inspector Morse on PBS is a new discovery.
Books: Just read Neal Donald Walsh's book on Holistic Living and also Conversations with God is an inspiration. Also read "In Her Shoes" by Jennifer Weiner and "On the Way to the Wedding" by Julia Quinn. "A Separate Reality", Finding Your Soul Mate by Michael, Here at the End of the World We learn To Dance by Lloyd Jones, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Buddhism: Plain and Simple, Sex and Psychic Sexual Energy by Betty Bethards, My first book was James and The Giant Peach. The first really interesting book I can remember reading was The Godfather. I enjoyed the movies too, especially the first one.
Music: Classical is what I listen to most, now - KDFC is on most of the time. Bands include U2, Santana, Marvin Gaye, the Beatles, Whitney Houston (when she gets way up there), Dave Mathews Band, Lynard Skynard, The Eagles, Phil Collins, New age stuff, even some country. Adele, Lady Gaga are talented ladies.
Food: Korean Food is my favorite (if I had one meal to eat), Thai, Chinese is the only food I can eat every day for months and months but even that can get old; Cheese Burgers, good Pizza; fruits and veggies at every meal except breakfast. Peaches (2 week window during late summer) where there is nothing better (especially when I haven't eaten sweets in a while), bananas. Smoothies and juicing are great. Raw Food is something I am getting into, along with eating range fed beef.
Just a note about drinking. Although I don't drink (never was motivated to learn how to drink in moderation, if you catch my drift), dating someone who drinks in moderation is ok. It wouldn't probably be a fit if the person consumes a lot. However, there have been drinkers around me so it feels relatively comfortable to be around them. Not really into the bar scene, though. Obviously, being around non-drinkers is ok, too.
I have been to about 10 countries in Asia, including Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. I have lived in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan for a total of 3 years. It really makes you appreciate what we have here in the Bay Area. In Europe, I have visited Germany. My plan is to visit England, Ireland, France and Spain. Italy would be nice too.
A possible first date would be meeting for coffee, being honest with each other to see if we are a match. Continually being honest with each other while going for dinner, dancing, a movie, the beach, etc on the next several dates , as well as emails, text messages and phone calls.
