My self-summary
I thrive on flexibility and spontaneity; my master plan has built-in wiggle room.

I like to have my cake and eat it too.
I live to travel, but love to come home.
Hopelessly addicted to adrenaline, I'm also a sucker for lazy days and shameless vegetation.

I could talk about myself all day, but that seems a bit cold and pointless.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a paramedic in South L.A., and I teach clinical skills, patient assessment, and trauma management at a large, local university.

Prior to getting involved in EMS, I was a journalist. I wrote for a handful of magazines, mostly about action sports and adventure travel. I've travelled all over the world, and spent several years in the French Alps covering backcountry ski/snowboard culture, and promoting avalanche safety and backcountry awareness.

I still like to write --- short stories, travelogues, oddball prose, and letters (real ones with stamps & envelopes).
I’m really good at
Splinting & bleeding control.
Winging it.
The first things people usually notice about me
My low center of gravity. I'm short.
The six things I could never do without
My Passport
Ice Cream
White T-Shirts
Little blank notebooks
I spend a lot of time thinking about
"Why do I feel like I'm forgetting something?"
On a typical Friday night I am
If I'm not bouncing around in the back of my ambulance, I'm probably posted on the couch or out for some beers.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can still get down with coloring books.
You should message me if
you can't come up with a reason not to.
