Nearly every day begins with a workout. I love to hike, run, and engage in high-intensity interval training. (My dog loves these things, too.) My bicycle, however, remains untouched in the garage. Riding it is an exercise in drudgery, so I avoid it. I have an extensive home gym, and did personal training and group exercise instruction for years, so yes, I do know what I'm doing. Oh, and if I'm not working out, I'm dancing. Anybody can dance - just shake what your mama gave you.
I love food, although I don't enjoy cooking. (I can do it, and I'm not a BAD cook, but am much happier if someone else does it. I'll happily do the dishes.) I love to read, although usually only do it on the weekends and in the evening, since sitting for extended periods of time is not something I enjoy. Some of my favorite authors are Lois McMaster Bujold, Robert A. Heinlein (pre-stroke), Dean R. Koontz, Orson Scott Card, and Nora Roberts. (What can I say. I happen to LIKE bubble gum.)
I do all the yard work at my house and enjoy having a garden. I wouldn't say I necessarily have a green thumb, but what I plant generally grows, so I can't complain. I also drive a mean Craftsman mower.
And if you're wondering what I'm looking for with my OK Cupid account, please check out the "I'm looking for" section. I'm not being coy. That really is what I'm looking for.
Movies: Ghost Rider (the first one), The Holiday, Avatar, Serenity
TV Shows: Mad Men, Firefly, Downton Abbey, Warehouse 13
Music: AWOLnation, Gotye, Christina Perri
Food: Mexican (bring on the spicy, baby), Indian, salads
The lists above are severely abridged for the sake of space and the reader's sanity.
Exercise: I wake up at about 4:30 am to get a workout in before I leave for work. I write my workout for the next day in the evening, after dinner, or if it isn't too complex, I at least plan it in my head. As I fall asleep, I'm often running through the workout in my mind.
Cleaning: I organize space in my head. If my closet is bugging me, I take a mental inventory of what's there, pitch this, keep that, organize by color, and when I have time, I do the Captain Jean Luc Picard thing and make it so. (Technically, that was his imperative to Will Riker, but I digress.) This was, in fact, a recent project, and I Roy G. Biv'd the crap out of my closet. Pure bliss!
Life and people: Both are wonderful! I love the randomness of life and humanity. I love the complexity of both, and especially try to figure out why people are the way they are. To know someone is to love someone.
