My self-summary
Looking for snippets or large doses of happiness whenever and wherever I can. Simple food and the occasional decadent degustation make me happy. I pay my calorie debt with a mix of running, martial arts and household chores on most days. Anthropology, cosmology and history entertain me. Learning Japanese and researching attractions so that I can enjoy 6 weeks of holiday in Japan.
What I’m doing with my life
Intensive thumb twiddling, also known as business advisory. Intersperse with planning for menial stuff like nights and weekends out and travel.

Must resolve to finish that damn black and white MC Escher jigsaw puzzle I started months ago. Edit: I gave up. Better to cut my losses and run. Best decision I ever made.
I’m really good at
planning (travel agent might be an alternative career), researching and number crunching.
The first things people usually notice about me
My not evil laugh. My not pretend innocent look. I don't know. People don't tend to tell me their observations.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Hard to pin down favourite books, easier to say my previous book was Christopher Hitchens's Arguably, current book Lisa Randall's Knocking on Heaven's Door and next book Journey to the West (Monkey King) by Wu Cheng'en.

Movies, not in any order of preference or significance - originals with subtitles (eg original Swedish The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Yoji Yamada's Samurai Trilogy, Russian Dolls, Amelie, Rain Man, The Others.

Shows - Futurama, Game of Thrones, Rick and Morty, South Park

Music - Angus and Julia Stone, Maroon 5, Sally Seltmann, ABC Classic, ABC Jazz

Food - soft cheese, wine, scotch, cognac
Six things I could never do without
Stable internet connection, books, booze, friends, sanity, my kitty. Don’t force me to rank them.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
42 and what I want out of it. How to be happy and make other people not too unhappy in the process. Whether life has been nice to me. Could I be happier?
On a typical Friday night I am
out with friends in Newtown or city for dinner, movie, show, gig
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Mild OCD isn’t so bad.
You should message me if
you think you might enjoy the company of a slightly impatient moderate socialist greenie gourmand.
