My self-summary
I try to be a friendly, honest, human being who will do anything for the people I care about and lots of things for complete strangers
What I’m doing with my life
I work for a non profit that provides residential and other services for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Things can get pretty intense at work so I'm pretty busy. I've been doing what I do for 8 years and at my agency in various positions for 5 so clearly I love it. If we go somewhere that involves alcohol and I have enough of it, I will probably show you pictures of some of the amazing people I have met. Or even just my dog.
I’m really good at
Remembering to take the trash to the curb on pickup night. Making people birthday treats. Making quiche. Cuddling with people/animals. Becoming friends with a group of strangers in a bar.
The first things people usually notice about me
I guess tall, beard, cowboy boots?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I am basically a humongous dork and am not ashamed. I still watch cartoons every Saturday morning and I've probably read more comic books than most of the population. cause I majored in reading comic books for undergrad. seriously.

I also have enough of familiarity with literature that I can fake a conversation about Russian authors with drunk guys from Moscow in bars. Cause that was a thing that happened.

Waylon Jennings, Jessi Colter, Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, Townes Van Zandt, Jerry Jeff Walker, Patsy Cline, Kris Kristofferson, Steve Earle, Loretta Lynn, Ryan Bingham, The Pistol Annies, Willie Nelson, The Little Willies, George Jones, ect. I like old cowboy music

I like noms

Remember the time John Carpenter and Roddy Piper predicted the future? I think it was called They Live.
The six things I could never do without
8 or 9 years ago I would have said cigarettes, but I was wrong about that and quit so none of these are set in stone...

Somewhere to walk to

My dog

Somewhere to stop on the way

My slow cookers
I spend a lot of time thinking about
superheroes. pizza. consent. sandwiches. police abuse. dumplings. privilege. tacos. monogamy and it's alternatives. beer. neurodiversity.
On a typical Friday night I am
Conversing with friends, family or strangers. Maybe just hanging out with my dog/working in the backyard. I definitely appreciate a quiet night in more than a crazy night out, but I like checking out new restaurants and bars and taking long tipsy walks.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I draw a smiley face on the sponge with body wash every morning in the shower. A growing part of me believes that this is the only thing staving off the apocalypse. So I guess it is good that I do that.
You should message me if
You can teach me how to jump rope

I tend to like people who are honest. My favorite are people who are willing to give a little for the people they care about and coincidentally care about pretty much everybody. Also people who are smart and self critical and self reflective even when it is hard, specifically people who help me be those things and help me learn and grow.

Let me reiterate, honesty honesty honesty. Honesty.

You take care of yourself, whatever that means to you.
