My self-summary
Looking to make friends, hopefully stumble upon a spark to something more.

I love activities where people spend time together, whether that's grabbing a coffee, a beer, or a meal, playing a board game, or walking one of the trails around town. I really super want to get back to swing dancing. Hoping the schedule works out next semester...

Also, I've been told adding Myers Briggs is a plus. I will because my results have been pretty consistently ENTP, but the people I know with psychology degrees would cringe. Shhhh, we won't tell them.

I hang out with geeks and am kinda geeky, but fall sort of the true geeks. I sometimes say Star Trek when I mean Star Wars, and am out of my depth in a conversation about either in about a minute. I like Joss Whedons stuff from what I've seen, and I usually check his blog before buying a game. I only like horror movies if they're funny (intentionally or otherwise). I can draw more superheroes than I can recognize.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm in a graduate program for medieval history that dominates much of my life right now.

The events at Mizzou last fall and the lead up and culmination of this past election has galvanized me politically. I've always had strong opinions, but that no longer seems like enough. I am staunchly progressive and think that basic political positions say a lot about what someone values and is willing to protect. It would be amazing to find like minded people.

Separately, I go to StL or KC fairly regularly and am finding Columbia a bit small for my tastes. I grew up in STL, so am a bit more familiar with it.
I’m really good at
Talking a LOT about random Things, especially history. Learning and trying new things
The first things people usually notice about me
that I talk with my hands
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read a lot! Since it's kinda my job now, reading for fun has gotten much less frequent and the content has changed to simplify a bit. Im currently very happy with Rick Riordan's new Norse series. One of my favorite authors is Jose Saramago. I love discovering new things and have eclectic tastes.

I have a giant spotify playlist that goes on for 5 days, but only has 3 songs per artist.

Movies and TV shows I'm a bit out of date on. Frequently I dont watch anything at all during the semester because I find it can really hamper my productivity or turn into binging pretty quick. If I watch with others, it keeps this in check and that seems to work. Winter break and summer are times for catching up on all this. Throw me some suggestions of where I should be looking!

Favorites- Movies: Pan's Labyrinth, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Amelie, Avalon, The Secret of Kells, Inception, Office Space, Goodbye Lenin!, Gran Torino, Waking Ned Divine, Boyhood, Moonrise Kingdom, Parenthood, all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, yes all

TV: Dr. Who, The Office (us), Firefly, Freaks & Geeks, Stranger Things, Sherlock, Criminal Minds, How I Met Your Mother, Jessica Jones, Golden Girls, Anthony Bourdain shows

I love ethnic foods and really enjoy festivals too.
The six things I could never do without
Coffee. I believe in Random Acts of Coffee and am trying to make this a thing.

Friends, Conversation, Fun, and Dancing.

But if you can't have that, then at least have Internet :)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Saints and plague. Non-work related, I love to play games, mostly board and card. Anything that gets my brain working in a different way.
On a typical Friday night I am
spending quality time with friends, family, or meeting new people. Or asleep because the week was a bit too long.
You should message me if
you scrolled this far :)
