My self-summary
"I'm looking for someone to share in an adventure."

I am a loyal, funny, and friendly guy living in Fayetteville and working in radio.

I really like spending time outdoors. I love to hike, camp, swim, float (though I am extremely lacking in grace entering and exiting a kayak). But then again I really like doing indoor activities too. I like playing games of all types, from poker to board games, video games and pen and paper games. I consider myself a nerd, and am unapologetic about it.

Also, I WILL quote the Simpsons in casual conversation. Just a warning.

Random FACTS:
I'm allergic to cats, but I like them anyway.
The last pet I owned was a blue beta named Red (after the character from the Shawshank Redemption)
I live with two female roommates.
My hair is light brown, but my beard is decidedly red.
I am not your ex-boyfriend. (probably)
I am faster than 80% of all snakes.
I wear glasses.
Alcoholic drink of choice: scotch on the rocks
Beer of choice: Abita Amber
I like my orange juice VERY pulpy.
If I could have any super power it would either be super stretchiness (It just seems like it would be very useful) or access to "hammer space" (Reaching behind ones back and producing useful objects out of thin air a la Looney Toons).

I am honest, loyal, and funny
What I’m doing with my life
Mostly working. But also trying to be a good father to my son who I get to see every other weekend. I've also been trying to get out and hike or walk as much as possible. And I'm currently quitting smoking. I hit 10 months since my last cigarette (as of April, 17). Over the past few months I've also been dieting. I've lost over 50 lbs since August 2013, and I'm still slimming down.
I’m really good at
Communicating. Finding constellations at night. Starting campfires. Pretending I know what I'm talking about even when I have no clue.

Oh, and back rubs... I give mean back rubs.
The first things people usually notice about me
Glasses? Beard? Aura of nerdiness? Not sure, really.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I like comic books, my favorites are Preacher, Y: the Last Man, The Walking Dead, and Invincible. I like Stephen King books, The Dark Tower, Salem's Lot, and It are among my favorites. Still Life with Woodpecker by Tom Robbins, World War Z by Max Brooks, and Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein are some of my favorite novels.

Movies: Too many to possibly put on here in any kind of sane way, so I will give Desert Island top 5's of each genre:
Comedy: Ghostbusters, Animal House, Back to the Future, Shaun of the Dead, Blazing Saddles
Action: Die Hard, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Fight Club, Terminator 2, Kill Bill Vol. 1
Horror: 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead, An American Werewolf in London, I Am Legend, The Mist
Romantic Comedy: High Fidelity, The Terminal, When Harry Met Sally, Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist, Chasing Amy
Science Fiction: Star Wars, Alien, Firefly (I know it's a TV series, but I'm gonna bend the rules on this one), Independence Day, The Day the Earth Stood Still (the original)
Drama: The Shawshank Redemption, Children of Men, Saving Private Ryan, Stand by Me, Seven

Music: I have a very wide taste in music. My ipod has everything from Mozart to Metallica. That being said, there are a lot of bands that I know next to nothing about and I always like to learn more and be exposed to new music. A few of my favorites: Green Day, Flogging Molly, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Muse, Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine, Ra, Finger Eleven, Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin, many others.
Six things I could never do without
My friends. My family. Adventuring. Love. Trust. The Simpsons.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How best to survive the Zombie apocalypse. (The hardest part will be pretending that it isn't awesome.)
On a typical Friday night I am
Sitting at home with my son, or heading up to the Frisco in Rogers for a drink (or two) and conversation with friends. Planning what I'm going to get up to on Saturday and Sunday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Scratch my back and I will pretty much be putty in your hands.
You should message me if
You dig the funny, fuzzy, teddy-bear type.
You're adventurous and love going out and doing new things on the weekends.

Oh, and if you dig beards, dimples, and good teeth, then I'm your guy. ;)
