My self-summary
Chicago native and 3-year DC area resident, currently working for a nonprofit. I also do some freelance writing. Interests include wine, good food, books, and a lot of other things - you should ask me!
What I’m doing with my life
I work for a nonprofit and also write on the side when I can.
I’m really good at
I'm a pretty good writer (although less so when it comes to myself) and I've also been told I'm a good cook and a good friend. That last one means a lot to me.
The first things people usually notice about me
Good question. You'll have to let me know!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Catch-22 is one of my favorite novels, and I'm a big Ray Bradbury fan; I read lots and lots of nonfiction, especially history, politics, and national security.

Movies: The Empire Strikes Back (far and away my favorite), Patton (my second-favorite), All the President's Men (#3), Becket, The Third Man, and pretty much anything James Bond (bonus points for Sean Connery or Daniel Craig). I love Christopher Nolan movies, too.

Shows: Mad Men, The Americans, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver

Music: Depends on my mood, although I love "oldies," Yellowcard, and John Williams scores.

Food: I'm Italian and German so I'm especially fond of those dishes, but also Mexican and Chinese. I grew up on Chicago delicacies like deep dish pizza and Italian beef, so that has a special place in my heart.
Six things I could never do without
1) My family and friends
2) Books ("I cannot live without books," as Thomas Jefferson said)
3) The Chicago Cubs (it's an intense love/hate relationship)
4) My cellphone
5) Trader Joe's
6) Wine
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lunch. Definitely lunch. Well, sometimes dinner.
On a typical Friday night I am
probably drinking wine.
You should message me if
Well, if you've gotten this far... :-)
