My self-summary
Maine->Colorado->Chicago. Love traveling (44 countries, 42 states) and planning the year's big adventure - 2013 brought a trip to Peru & Colombia; in 2014 I trekked through the Middle East and toured Southeast Asia; and last year I hiked Kilimanjaro. I also love having dinner with friends, watching NFL (Pats) and MLB (Red Sox), and spoiling my two nephews. I exercise at least 6 days each week - nothing better than a tough workout followed by a great dinner out on the town. I'm not much of a cook but I am a mean baker - cakes, pies, brownies, tarts, you name it. So if you can grill up the entree, I'll bring the sweet stuff ;)

I'm looking for someone who, first and foremost, loves to laugh. I think laughter should be a part of every day and I truly appreciate a great sense of humor. I'm very close with my family and friends; although they're spread across the country, I talk to and see them as often as I can. I am always up for trying new things, love a bit of spontaneity, and hope to meet someone who will introduce me to new experiences.
What I’m doing with my life
I am focused on the things that spark my passion and satisfy my curiosity. These primarily include traveling as much as possible, striving to continually improve myself and get the most out of life, and spending time with the people who matter to me.

Professionally, I have worked as a management consultant for the past five years. While this has given me exposure to many industries and companies, I am in the midst of a career change to a role that leverages my experience but demands less travel. I am a driven and career-oriented woman, and my desire is to put my skills and experience to work in a more meaningful job that provides me with personal fulfillment and allows me to pursue the personal endeavors that are increasingly important to me.
I’m really good at
- Listening and remembering things (you'll be surprised when I recall a small detail four months down the road)
- Asking questions about you and your life (I love learning about people's experiences and understanding what motivates them)
- Quoting Caddyshack (and other great movies that you might not have seen for 15 years)
- Organizing and planning (I am the boss of spreadsheets)
- Remembering birthdays (and calling/sending cards on them)
- Useless trivia
- Parallel parking
- Foreign languages, accents, and impressions
- Baking (cooking, not so much...)
- Organizing dinners, parties, and nights on the town
The first things people usually notice about me
My bright and friendly smile, blonde hair, and blue eyes before we chat. After that, my curiosity and sense of humor - a mix of sarcasm, dry wit, and a little childish humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'll do two of each:
Books - The Stand, The Catcher in the Rye
Movies - Caddyshack, Goodfellas
Shows - Breaking Bad, Curb Your Enthusiasm
Food - Steak, Middle Eastern
Music - just about anything, from The Who, to The Police, to Neil Young, to top 40 (great for the gym)
The six things I could never do without
Diet Pepsi
Monday Night Football
Good food
Phone calls with and visits to friends and family
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The fact that so many people who send me messages on this site obviously didn't read the last line of my "You should message me if..." section :)
On a typical Friday night I am
There's really no such thing for me. Over the past year my Friday nights have included: dinner out in Bangkok, dancing the night away in a sari at an Indian wedding in St. Maarten, partying in Denver after a long day of hiking, and enjoying a girls' night out in Chicago.
You should message me if
You are an outgoing, enthusiastic guy with a good sense of humor. I'm looking for someone who gets excited about an upcoming trip, dinner, game, or show, and someone who sees the humor in life and enjoys a good laugh. Also, I'm looking for someone who lives in the city of Chicago - busy schedules on both sides make Chicago/suburb relationships difficult. Finally, I'm much more likely to respond to a message that seeks to strike up a conversation, rather than a "Hi" or "How are you".
