My self-summary
Hello awesome person! More on what I’m looking for at the bottom.

I’m John! A sax-playing, sword-fighting nerd with a big heart and even bigger ambitions. I will be working at Disneyworld (coming from Disneyland) and have graduated with a BA in Psychology from Cal State Fullerton. I’m looking to move into management, but I’m very open-minded about my direction in life. No matter what I end up doing, I’m certain that I’ll find something in which I’m helping people, making money, and ultimately being satisfied with my work.

In my free time, I enjoy making music, hitting people with weapons, working with leather, and cuddling up for some book/tv/Reddit time. I play the saxophone and clarinet, and you’ll likely find me at Anime or Comic Book conventions playing requests. I participate in Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA for short), in which I meet up with dozens of others to learn how to sword-fight with historical weapons as they were intended. My first love is the longsword, but I greatly enjoy rapier (“My name is Inigo Montoya…”), messer (essentially a giant knife), and sickles. This spurred my other hobby of wrapping things in leather, even making a business out of it.

Personality-wise, I’m very outgoing, friendly, positive, engaging, sweet, and caring. I tend to take leadership roles, but I enjoy helping people in any capacity. I talk a lot, and can dominate conversations if I’m not careful. I have the mind of a researcher, with an insatiable curiosity and love of challenges. I am often described as effeminate, because I am often sensitive to how I make others feel, but I definitely have plenty of alpha/masculine tendencies. I take great pride in taking care of myself, looking good, doing things for others, and being awesome.

And if you haven’t noticed, I often use lists, parentheses, and block text to organize and communicate thoughts/ideas. I COULD add bullet points, but I’ll leave that for the business cards.
What I’m doing with my life
School, apparently… I’ll have had 10 years of college by the time I’m done (for now), but its OK because I've learned a lot about the world and myself. I've talked about my career aspirations, so not much to add there.

I spend a lot of time and energy working to improve myself and my situations. Nobody's perfect, but we can always be better!
I’m really good at
….making people feel comfortable. I wanted to be a therapist, since people open up so easily to me. I’m also a PHENOMENAL cuddler. I think there’s something unique about holding a person close as you talk or fall asleep together.

I am also good at entertaining people. Sometimes I tell horribly pun-y jokes at work, but my enthusiasm and delivery really sell it! I love engaging people and striking up conversations about literally anything.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m tall and I usually dress up. I like to look good, but no matter what I wear people seem to also notice that I may look like Christian Bale, Tom Cruise, Ashton Kutcher, and sound like Topher Grace. I also like to smile and can be considered awkward if I wasn't so adorable~!

Six things I could never do without
Something to MAKE music on
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I ponder the universe, our existence, who I am, what's happening next, and general philosophies. I think about pretty girls and doing romantic things... about how it would feel to hold someone that would make all my problems seem irrelevant and my own life inconsequential. I dream of finding that person to whom I will give my whole heart. It may take a long time, but just believing that I could possibly have that some day keeps me going.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably at work, but if not I'd like to be hanging out with friends, going out for dinner or drinks, or possibly gaming. Who's up for a game of Cards Against Humanity or Munchkin?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I cosplay (GASP), though only sax playing characters: Gren from Cowboy Bebop and Midvalley the Hornfreak from Trigun. Midvalley is probably one of the most iconic, since I've been cosplaying that character for about a decade. I just debuted my own character, John the Sax Guy, at Comic Con this year!
You should message me if
…you’d like to go out or hang out. I’m not on here especially to make friends, so I’ll describe some traits I’m looking for in an ideal partner below. I’m on here to meet people with the possibility of dating, so I may not respond to each and every message that seems like nothing will come out of it… I’m sorry, but unless I just make a general “Thank you, but I’m not interested” reply, I’m not willing to invest in giving everyone the time they deserve. The right one for you is out there, I just might not be it.

I'm looking for a woman who is smart, nerdy, active, and comparable to my body type (I'm 6'1 and 155lbs, so generally I'm looking for women smaller than that). I'm hoping we can have some shared interests, be it Psychology, Disney, sword-fighting, or something else I've described on here. You can read more about my preferences in my match questions on here too, but feel free to message me if you have any questions or would just think we might hit it off!
