My self-summary
I love stories. I love hearing the stories of others and sharing my stories with others. I genuinely enjoy other human beings and am continually fascinated by them. I am a fan of most arts and humanities, but am particularly moved by film and literature. My primary areas of study have been religion, history, philosophy and psychology - basically the studies of why humans do the things they do. I strive to be a compassionate and moral person and to bring happiness as a gift to everyone I encounter. I was born and raised Jewish, and Judaism has played a major part in who I am today. I have also incorporated many ideas from other religions and philosophies into my world view, Buddhism being another major source of inspiration.
What I’m doing with my life
In addition to working a day job and trying to start my own home rental business, I am working with a couple of artists to create a comic book series that I hope to release in the near future. Every day I work to improve myself physically, mentally and spiritually and hope to meet others who find self-improvement worthwhile. I volunteer when I can, and am looking to get involved in youth mentoring programs.
I’m really good at
Seeing things from different perspectives. I try to empathize with others, to understand how they think and feel as well as to solve problems by looking at them from many alternate viewpoints.

I am also very good at getting along with people. I genuinely try to like, or at least get along with everyone I meet. It doesn't always work, but I really give it a solid effort.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am usually happy. I try to keep a positive outlook and smile whenever possible.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: "The Razor's Edge" and "Of Human Bondage" by W. Somerset Maugham. "Being Peace" by Thich Nhat Hanh. Many a Stephen King story with "The Stand" "Duma Key" and "Cell" having a special place at the top. "A Song of Ice and Fire" makes for a really great audiobook experience. There are many more that I won't take the time to list, but perhaps my favorite book of all time is "Stranger in a Strange Land" by Robert A. Heinlein - whose work as a whole I'm quite fond of.

Shows: "Black Mirror" is probably my favorite show that people have heard of. "The Middleman" is my all time favorite. Firefly, Carnivale, Stranger Things, Arrested Development, Parks and Rec, Twilight Zone, Tales from the Crypt, Ash vs. Evil Dead, Always Sunny, and many more (more than I'm proud to admit).

Music: I like just about any music aside from contemporary pop (and there's a few songs in that category I enjoy), but my favorite band of all time is Iron Maiden. If you like Iron Maiden, we will get along very well.

Movies: I enjoy most genres of film, although I have a soft spot for Sci-Fi and Horror. I'm open to watching just about any film (aside from the Twilight movies).

Food: You've probably guessed, but I'm pretty easy to please. I like most varieties of food, with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine being my all time favorites.
Six things I could never do without
Compassion, Empathy, a desire to learn, shared experiences, Dogs, and Iron Maiden (It's hard to imagine my life before hearing them).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The many realities in which I exist (A.K.A. Books, games, writing, art, film/tv - as well as different roles I play in my interactions with others).
On a typical Friday night I am
Either at synagogue services, with family or with friends. Also there is a good chance I'm at home, unwinding from the week and enjoying some alone time.
