My self-summary
Hey, I'm Chris. Talking about myself like this isn't something I'm great at, but let's give it a go. I grew up in NY, and moved out west about 5 years ago. Originally it was for school but I never ended up leaving.

I graduated college a few years ago, but the school was terrible and the degree was worthless, so nothing really happened for a couple of years. Eventually got tired of sititng around doing nothing, and decided to take control of my life and go back to school and get a degree from a real school. It’s been going well and it feels great to be working towards something.

If asked to use one word to describe my interests, that word would certainly be gamer. It’s been my hobby since I was a child and I still have all my old consoles Enjoy all types of games, and getting a group of friends together to play something like Mario Kart, Smash, or Halo is always a lot of fun.
Aside from school and gaming, I spend time watching Netflix, watching movies and occasionally hanging out with friends.

If there's anything else you want to know check out my answered questions. I've answered quite a few of them, it kinda just sucks you in.
What I’m doing with my life
Going back to school right now for computer science. It was a little daunting going back so late but I know it will lead to better things, Got a retail job at the moment to (mostly) pay the bills. I hope to start interning somewhere in around a year when I get my associates and transfer to a 4 year school.
I’m really good at
Playing games, getting lost in wikipedia, spending an unhealthy amount of time in Netflix and learning how not to do things, and coming up with the most inappropriate responses to things people say. Most people seem to find me funny once I open up to them.
The first things people usually notice about me
I can be rather quiet when I'm still in the "getting to know you" phase but I open up fairly quickly, I've gotten some great friends over the past few years that have really helped me come out of my shell a lot easier.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I don't read as much as I used to but I do love a good book every so often. I enjoy reading Stephen King and John Grisham,
Recently read the Hunger Games trilogy, and The Brethren. about to start Under the Dome

I watch a lot of TV. I've never seen a Joss Wheodon production I haven't enjoyed. Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse, all great. I enjoy Supernatural, Arrow, L&O SVU, Falling Skies, Person of Interest and if we include web series, Red Vs Blue, and RWBY. I'm currently making up for lost time and plowing through Doctor Who on Netflix 'll stop there but I go on for 20 more lines easy.

Doesn't fall under the given categories, but felt like I should include my gaming tastes. Love Final Fantasy, Tales, Zelda, Mass Effect, Resident Evil(even 6, yea I know I'm weird), Silent
Hill, Left 4 Dead, Halo, and many more. Pretty much as long as it's not sports I'll give it a try. Recently I've been enjoying Mario Kart 8 and Infamous: Second Son.
My favorite game I've ever played is Final Fantasy VI. I loved the story, I loved the art. I loved all the characters and how they all played an important role to the point that you could say there was no true lead character. Also the music from the game is amazing and many of the tracks are some of my favorite in all gaming. Also Kefka. Best megalomaniacal sociopath ever.

My movie tastes are broad and I'll really give anything a try. My favorite movie is Airplane and I love all the old spoof movies like Spaceballs, and Naked Gun. I think it's really sad what the genre has devolved into in recent years. Some of the semi-recent movies I've loved include Captain America: Winter Soldier, Godzilla, and Veronica Mars.

I'm an omnivore, I'll try almost anything once. A while back I got into cooking. Wouldn't call myself a gourmet chef but I do enjoy trying new recipes and it's cheaper and healthier than buying micowave dinners/fast food all the time. Also tastes better.
Six things I could never do without
My friends and family are important to me.
I spend a lot of time on my computer so I guess life would be a little more boring if a boulder randomly fell on it.
I don't explore it as much as I like but I do like to stop and enjoy nature. Watching animals go about and do their stuff or the wind moving the trees. Life would suck without all that, and it's sad that the whole Simpsons gag of a hologram tree being "in memory of a real tree" will likely be true someday.
hmmm, only 3......uh water, blood, and a beating heart...Though I guess I could get one of those machines that pumps my blood for me....down to five.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Wondering how I ended up in southern California given my preference for cold climates.

Also where I'm going to be in a few years. That's one of the things that really got me going seriously with this school thing. Starting school from scratch at my as age is scary , but the thought of being exactly where I was before 4 years down the road was even scarier.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I know it sounds cliche, but I'm really not that private a person, There isn't much I won't be willing to tell someone after talking to them for a little bit. So just ask.
You should message me if
Always looking for more people to talk to so if we share some nerdy interests or you want to talk about anything, send me a message. A good sense of humor is also a plus.
