People are mostly about the habits they keep. Over the years if nothing else I have learned some things about myself:
I am attracted to people who
laugh often, eat right, practice kindness, help others, love passionately, travel tirelessly, give generously, keep learning and tell the truth.
Along the way I've discovered that I like to laugh, sleep is important, flossing is essential, water is very beneficial and exercise is good for the body and mind.
Experience has taught me I can only change myself and that there's a higher power, it's not me.
It would be nice to meet someone that shares some or most of this philosophy. I also like having good clean fun and don't mind getting dirty.
I've discovered that living by the water helps me thrive both creatively and spiritually.
I love the great outdoors.
I came to New York in '82 from the midwest and worked in television for many years. I went back to school in '07 for a degree in art therapy. Now I teach art to seniors, maybe I should say they teach me. ☺
As a young adult I lived in the San Francisco area for a brief time and would consider moving back to the West Coast. What's that Tony Bennett song, 'I Left My Heart...' 🎼🎹🎵🎶
Creative time and travel are important to me as well as my adult daughter. She is all that is left of our once beautiful family. My husband and son both died of sudden cardiac arrest. This was painful to go through, I am moving forward now.
Looking for a companion to share things like going to galleries and museums, films, travel and cultural events. Let's have lots of talks about current events mixed with plenty of jokes. We need that after the last election hahaha.
In the summer let's sit on a beach reading or gazing at sailboats drifting by.⛵⛵ Winters may find us in front of the fireplace🔥on a chilly evening watching a film...
Together, we will find ourselves in the 'real world' company of each other's' grace and charm, with lots of laughter and intelligent chatter.
Did I forget to mention that in addition to all the great stuff already listed, we are humble, health conscious, loving, supportive, compassionate and giving with OTHERS? Volunteering is good for the soul.
If you thought about what your partner might be like,
and it sounds like what my partner might be like,
then either we should meet -
or someone copied. 😃

Practicing art as therapy
If left at the bookstore unattended - send a search party in a couple of days.
Love to read most anything; the classics and short story collections. Enjoy RE-reading books that I love. Read lots of magazines and non fiction: love big beautiful coffee table books with gorgeous photography, art books, antiques, etc... (visual learner). When I am making art I like to listen to podcasts and audio books.
Museums: The Frick, The Chgo Art Institute, The Met, The Portrait Gallery in D.C. and many other museums around the globe.
As an ex museum worker, all exhibit spaces are of interest to me.
Movies: Indi Films Hollywood, Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO GO.
TV: Not much for what comes on the broadcast networks: CBS Sunday Morning and the Political Shows that follow; cut the cord and just stream what is important to me.
Music: Everything from Classical to Acoustic Rock and Motown.
Food: Willing to try almost anything.
Emptiness and the nature of . . .
One day someone will like me
And I'll like them back
We will meet
And the rest is history
I also wonder why I bother with internet dating
People don't even know they are lying
So much denial
The end of a profile
States an age range a person is comfortable with
When I see 15+ years younger but not a day older (?)
What's up with that...lol
-Truthfully, I'm usually reading a book.
HELL, throw 'em outside; they can fend for themselves.
(It's only for a few weeks right?)
