My self-summary
To start with, Bojack Horseman is my spirit animal. Diane Nguyen is the ghostwriter in my head. If you get that reference bonus points! If you end up liking my profile enough to want to get that, binge watch Bojack Horseman on Netflix.

I will mention this again, so here it is, I value honesty, some would say to a fault. My heart and emotions are on my sleeve, except when my head manages to give them much needed time-outs. My head and heart are better communicators now than teenage me ever imagined haha! I am a frog, that when kissed stays a frog. I like being a frog, frogs are real, whereas the Prince is still a matter of debate for the crypto zoologists of the world. Frogs can still be loyal, loving, and tend to have interesting perspectives on life, even with warts.

I am polyamorous. I believe in relationships opening up worlds of opportunities and am not afraid of the idea of love. Love can come about in so many ways; at first sight or slowly over time, it can take you by completely by surprise or you could know it was meant to be the whole time. None of this scares me, it is all just part of the embrace of life.

I have a grand sense of humor that vacillates between dry and biting ;-) and has gotten me far in this experiment called life. I Try to find the good in people and every situation and leave myself open to the experiences offered by the universe. I love the outdoors but she doesn't always love me back. (Yes I am talking to you sand and beaches)! I am always up for meeting new people and hope to one day find those lasting loves that will carry you through the years.

Geek is in my soul (and usually on my t-shirt haha)! I enjoy going to comic cons, small press expos, and anime conventions. I think the geek also extends to my interest/fascination organized crime and criminal thinking...must be the psychologist in me. Visited the Mob Museum in Vegas a few summers ago, best museum ever! I won't turn out like Harley Quinn I promise. (She is my favorite after Oracle).

I truly believe that everyone in this world has something to offer, and that people are more than a situation they may be in. So much can come from learning to see what truly makes a person who they are, and who they can become. Cliche? Maybe to some, not to me.

Life is all about connection. I find myself paying so much more attention to the connections I have made in my life.

I lived in California and used to have a pass so my obligatory Disneyland reference is thus, New Orleans Square is my favorite area. I love the Nightmare Before Christmas and Frozen. Especially since Frozen teaches us that you don't need no man for your true love!
What I’m doing with my life
I am the best dad I know to the most amazing 8 1/2 year old boy ever :-D My background is in social work most recently for people with developmental disabilities, which was the most bureaucratic fun I have ever had. I have done work in special education, as well as high school and college. Currently in the process of a fresh start and establishing myself in my new home state!

As well I am indulging in my desire to learn how to cook and as a result become a better eater. I want to be able to enjoy my food on an intellectual and emotional level. When I think about how much time we spend eating I figure why not be able to lose myself in the experience.
I’m really good at
Adapting to what life throws at me. Diffusing tense situation with either humor or diplomacy. Helping bring out the best in others, making new friends, awkwardness, coming up with random yet insightful comments, making my own seat covers out of the toilet paper when the need arises haha! The rest you will just have to find out for yourself :)
The first things people usually notice about me
My wheelchair
Sense of style
At least those are the things I've had noticed most recently by
strangers haha
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Grace's Guide: The Art of Pretending to be a Grown Up (my current favorite book), Around the World in 80 Days, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Frankenstein, Invisible Man, The Metamorphosis, Anna Karenina, Crime and Punishment, Fables, DMZ, Hack/Slash, The Song of Fire and Ice books, anything sci-fi/fantasy for that matter, Zombie Survival Guide, Phantoms in the Brain by Vilayanur S. Ramachandran (I am a neuroscience nerd).

Shows: Bojack Horseman, The Mind of a Chef, any food or travel related show or documentary, 30 Rock, Big Bang Theory, Mike and Molly, Alcatraz, Bored to Death, Criminal Minds, Body of Proof, Once Upon a Time, Grimm, Parks and Rec, House, Idiot Abroad, Sunny in Philly and the League, Archer, Boardwalk Empire, Sleepy Hollow, Chuck, Mindy Project, New Girl ( Jess and Nick are my favorite TV couple) plus more...

When it comes to movies I am too varied to list them all, but here is a sample to get you started. Nightmare Before Christmas and Frozen! Any horror or superhero movie, documentaries, romcoms, you get the idea. I love the movie Midnight in Paris. Who doesn't want to live in 1920's Paris, right???

Music: I have fallen immediately and madly in musical and lyrical love with Melody Gardot! The standards by Buble, Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, anything jazz. Those genres of music just make me feel at home. Think anything they would play on the vocal jazz pandora station. I am also big on Adele, Kate Nash, Florence + the Machine, Passion Pit, fun., Lumineers, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Lady A, Lindsey Sterling, Katy Perry, Kacey Musgraves...

I love hummus and tofu!

Could Inspector Gadget have kids?

If both people answer yes to the question about wanting their partner to be kinkier, does this inevitably lead to a "kink off" to find the answer as to which partner is kinkier??? Please say yes.

Is there a parallel universe me that is on their version of OkCupid?
On a typical Friday night I am
Do I have a typical Friday night???

The nerd in me may be watching neurology lectures on youtube.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I like women who curse/swear/cuss. It puts me at ease and I think it is hot. There I said it!
You should message me if
You would like someone to cram with for this pop quiz called life :-) You aren't completely thrown off by my being a dad or a lifetime achievement winner for geekiness. Definitely if you are looking for a relationship to last through the years, and don't mind me warts and all.

I value honesty and learning from my experiences. That being said, if we start talking and you decide what you are looking for just isn't there, please tell me. Think of it like an OkCupid comment card haha. I will gladly do the same for you. Just because your Mr. Right may not be me doesn't mean I don't want you to find them.
