My self-summary
I was born and raised in Rochester, NY, but I have had the opportunity to spend extensive time abroad. I love travel, language-learning, politics, running, and Seinfeld. I am easy-going and will enjoy anything from a quiet night in with friends to staying out late listening to live music. I share Jim Gaffigan's appreciation of bacon and love having food adventures.

Other random facts: I have 8 piercings, I surfed 3-4 times a week over 5 months in Morocco and I am still laughably terrible at it, I play the trombone, I have run three half-marathons, camels are a very uncomfortable mode of transportation, I have lived on 5 continents
What I’m doing with my life
I moved back to DC about a year ago after spending two years in Amman, Jordan. I am a master's student who also works full time in international education. I spend the little free time I have attempting to find the best rooftop bars in the city and roasting the occasional turkey (why should this wonderful activity be limited to one day of the year?!). More generally, I am thoroughly enjoying life in a city that is home to so many of my close friends from different stages of life.
I’m really good at
Learning languages, playing bananagrams, parallel parking.
The first things people usually notice about me
My crazy curly hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I think my favorite book is still Anna Karenina, but I like a wide range of things. In reality, I spend most of my time reading non-fiction related to political science and foreign language books. As far as TV shows go, I am still recovering from my 30 Rock withdrawal. After the guys at Aatish on the Hill started recognizing my order, I figured I better cut back on the Indian food, but I would live off of chicken makhani and naan if I could. I like all kinds of movies and can almost never answer the question, "what's your favorite movie" with any sort of ease. I was in a movie once. It's a funny story, you should hear it sometime.
The six things I could never do without
Coffee, friends, adequate sleep, guacamole, running, Tina Fey
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what to make for dinner, where I want to be in five years, Mitch McConnell's uncanny resemblance to a turtle, what kind of rapper name is Steve?...
On a typical Friday night I am
unwinding with friends and a drink.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
If I have an empty bottle or can and there is no place to recycle it, I will carry it around all day in my bag until I get home/find a proper place to dispose of it or else die of guilt.
You should message me if
you want to, particularly if you have an interesting/funny/clever/coincidental/whatever-comes-to-mind anecdote to share with me.
