My self-summary
BACK IN SEATTLE after a six-week tour of Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia, Spain and Iceland and it was INCREDIBLE. Always looking for people to share travel destinations, recommendations, and stories with :)

AHEM. "Hi guys." I'm Chris. Nice to Internet-meet you. I run a tutoring company and write for local papers and major websites. One of the Wahlberg brothers once called me an "earthy, crunchy intellectual," which is two-thirds right.

Once upon a time, I went to Columbia—then I moved back to Seattle, played professional poker for a while, started my own business, and am still happily self-employed and living the dream on the Hill.

In my free time, I create. People are meant to kick it with each other, and working with interesting people is the best way for me to get to know them and myself.

I'm into reading, writing, talking, listening, working out, taking trips, going outside, lounging on the roof, and playing music with my peeps. I like books, movies, the NFL, the NBA, and other types of high culture.

If I were a gay man, I'd be an otter. I think?
What I’m doing with my life
Running a business.

Going on satellite radio.

Writing for major websites and local papers.

Tweeting at celebrities and getting replies.

Thinking about happy hunter-gatherers chillin' around the fire pit and trying to recreate that in my own life as much as possible.

Going offbeat places to write bizarre stories.

Traveling and seeing how people live differently and the same.

Making new friends.

Empowering other people to do all of the above.
I’m really good at
Maintaining long-term friendships. Listening to people. Enjoying life.

The piano. Writing. Jokes. Games. Crossword puzzles.

Analyzing books, movies, TV shows, albums, etc.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Calvin and Hobbes, A Confederacy of Dunces, Hitchhiker's Guide, Portnoy's Complaint, Lolita, The Trial, Sex at Dawn, Crime and Punishment, Hunter S. Thompson, anything that helps me write

The six things I could never do without
A good sense of irony and a better sense of humor.

Multiple communities of old and new friends.

People who like me enough to make me better, and the confidence I need to make changes.

An upward career trajectory.

Critical-thinking skills.

A platform for creative expression.

New culture and people, to enjoy and learn from.

Getting better at things.

Travel plans and travel buddies.

More things than six to never do without.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to work rap lyrics into everyday conversation.

Next travel plans: Eastern-er Europe, Cuba and Central America, China, the South.

My next creative project. I'm always open to new ideas and receptive to honest feedback.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with any of my friend groups—or all of them at once!
You should message me if
You have a good sense of humor, can tell a good story about yourself, are interested in the world around you, or any of the above. :)
