My self-summary
--Central Europe and Balkans starting Aug. 16, back in Seattle late September--

"Hi guys." I'm Chris. Nice to Internet-meet you. One of the Wahlberg brothers once called me an "earthy, crunchy intellectual," which is two-thirds right.

I went to college on the East Coast, but I like Seattle more than New York, so I moved back and played professional poker for a while. I like collaborating more than competing, so now I run a business that helps kids all over Seattle.

In my free time, I create. People are meant to kick it with each other, and working with interesting people is the best way for me to get to know them and myself.

I'm into reading, writing, talking, listening, working out, going outside, lounging on the roof, and playing music with my peeps. I like books, movies, the NFL, the NBA, and other types of high culture.

If I were a gay man, I'd be an otter. Mostly.
What I’m doing with my life
Running a business.

Going on satellite radio and speaking (I think) eloquently.

Writing for publication and making (most) people like it.

Tweeting at celebrities and getting replies.

Thinking about happy hunter-gatherers chillin' around the fire pit and trying to recreate that in my own life as much as possible.

Going offbeat places to write bizarre stories.

Traveling and seeing how people live differently and the same.

Making new friends.

Empowering other people to do all of the above.
I’m really good at
The piano. Writing. Jokes. Games. Crossword puzzles.

Analyzing books, movies, TV shows, albums, and people.

Paragraphs; punctuation.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Calvin and Hobbes, A Confederacy of Dunces, Hitchhiker's Guide, Portnoy's Complaint, Lolita, The Trial, Sex at Dawn, Crime and Punishment, Hunter S. Thompson, anything that helps me write

The Big Lebowski, The Big Short, The Act of Killing, There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men, Sunset Boulevard, Ghostbusters, Mad Max, Ex Machina, Pulp Fiction, Gone Girl, Do the Right Thing, Nightcrawler, anything that makes me laugh

The Wire, The Sopranos, Veep, Arrested Development, the OJ Shows, Broad City, Show Me a Hero, Louie, Better Call Saul, Chappelle's Show, Monty Python, British comedy, Comedy Central roasts, anything that doesn't take itself too seriously

Beethoven, Brahms, Sibelius, Bill Evans, Kanye, Kendrick, Chance, and anything else I can bump in the car

Thai, Indian, Cheeseburgers, Pizza, dark beers, light wines, medium scotches, anything I haven't had before
The six things I could never do without
A good sense of irony and a better sense of humor.

Multiple communities of dope friends.

People who like me enough to make me better, and the confidence I need to make changes.

An upward career trajectory.

Critical-thinking skills.

A platform for creative expression.

New culture and people, to enjoy and learn from.

Getting better at things.

Travel plans.

More things than six to never do without.

Listicles. Maybe. :)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to work rap lyrics into everyday conversation.

Next travel plans: Eastern-er Europe, China, the South

My next creative project. I'm always open to new ideas and receptive to feedback.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with any of my friend groups.

Or, better yet, all of them at once.
You should message me if
You think you could add something to my awesome life, or you think I could add something to yours!
