My self-summary
Recent DC transplant by way of California, North Carolina and London. My accent is all over the place, but trust me, I'm a blue-blooded American through and through. If you're interested in sharing fun stories, talking politics, playing board games, and exploring DC, I'm your guy
What I’m doing with my life
Working at a tech company translating tech talk to non tech folks.

Outside of work, I'm getting into biking, so bonus points if you like to bike
I’m really good at
Squaring circles, letting my imagination run away with me, spoiling my appetite and knowing a little bit about a lot of things—Just enough to bluff my way through dinner party conversations or your local bar trivia
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes, jawline, and how my constant laughter reveals my pearly whites
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Can't mess with classics like Harry Potter and a Rand McNalley world atlas from 1989 (with detailed pages on the USSR to boot). Nowadays, I read the papers and a couple of contemporary fiction and historical non-fiction books a month. Currently on an early-American history binge, so David McCullough and I are good friends

Movies: I love the aesthetics of Wes Anderson and the characters/plotlines of Coen Brothers. My current netflix queue is a smattering of documentaries, foreign flicks and dramas

Shows: Last Week Tonight, Broad City and SNL are my weekly doses of hilarity. Girls and Louie are there for my go to dark comedy fixes.
Some TV series that have had an influence on my life are: QI, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, Curb your Enthusiasm, 30 Rock, Family Guy, The Simpsons, Seinfeld

Music: I really like the contemporary music scene. Artists like The Arcs, Borns, Gold Panda, Metronomy, Jamie XX, F Buttons, Pantha Du Prince. That being said, staples like the Beatles, Stevie Wonder and Beethoven are always appreciated. Basically, my music tastes can be best summarized by KCRW's Eclectic24 music stream (http://www.kcrw.com/music/eclectic24)

Food: I love food, both cooking it and eating it. I enjoy cooking Italian/Mediterranean food, like going out to Asian restaurants, and will happily eat a burrito any time of day
The six things I could never do without
The internet
iPhone
Legs (with feet) to get me around wherever I please at whatever speed
Pilot G-2 05 pens (in black, of course)
NYT
Sun
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How big and awesome the world is, and how lucky I am to see it at this time with all these great people on it
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually out exploring, usually with a drink in hand
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I long to visit Ulaanbaatar and Pyongyang...
You should message me if

2) You want to drive said Pan-American Highway with me
