My self-summary
Life story (tl;dr version) - grew up in the 'burbs of Orange County, CA. Decided that life is too good in SoCal, so I went to go build character in the frozen tundra of the midwest for four years. Then decided that I can go a little further and make it in the Big Apple in NYC. Been here since 2012 doing work in the tech consulting field. Ironically, I love the outdoors and being active, so I sometimes wonder why I'm still here.

Personality (tl;dr version) - faux-extrovert, but true introverts can see through the façade. I look serious until I open my mouth, so I can honestly say that anyone who can understand or even play along with my sense of humor will be golden. I'm not one for much small talk though I sure as hell can fake it. I much prefer to ask random questions that are setups for philosophical deep dives or just deep-dive tangents. Never afraid to self-deprecate or share things about myself. I'm all about exploring different points of view and hearing what gets people going. I don't get awkward easily, nor do I usually invoke awkwardness in others.

I appreciate honesty in your thoughts and intent in your actions.
What I’m doing with my life
I am dedicated in my job and even moreso to the team that I lead and work with. Since my project is global in nature, I often do work longer than average hours and may have work on my mind even after hours. Nevertheless, I hold my personal life and relationships to a higher priority and will always make time for those that are important to me. I am usually mentally present when in person and do not like checking my phone when I am with people.

In my free time, I try to stay active as possible. If I'm not able to make it to the gym after work, I will walk home from the office (a 62 street, 4 avenue walk). I will try to meet up with friends on weekends for outdoorsy activities (cycling, hiking) or go exploring the city on my own. I've also cut Seamless out of my life, so I do have to devote a good amount of time to the activities associated with maintaining a sufficient and healthy diet (I can eat a LOT).

I try to do about 2 international trips a year (at least 10+ days each), so I'm always looking for the next great flight deal as well as travel companions. I prefer more exotic locations and ballin' on a budget (think hostels and/or Airbnb). I will always prefer traveling with a backpack over a roller suitcase.
I’m really good at
Finding almost anything funny or amusing.

Making/noticing/appreciating puns.

Talking with people and taking a sincere interest in getting to know who I'm having a conversation with and what we're talking about.

Asking questions and also answering yours honestly as long as we're both actually listening.

Although, even though I seem pretty chill, I do get into phases where I get intensely into something for a while, and then it could end very abruptly for no reason. But this only applies to non-people things so, potential friends- do not worry.

you want to hang out with a genuine/kind-of-weird guy.

Honestly- I'm looking to meet interesting people and make connections. I've made non-awkward friends through this app, and I think that's pretty neat.
