My self-summary
**I live in Syracuse, NY but I'm back and forth between NY and Ontario very frequently.**

Sell myself in 100 words or more... I hate this part and I'm trying to come up with something clever, but as always I'm just too sleep deprived at the moment...

Have been dealing with some serious health issues these past several months - nothing too dire (or contagious), but enough to keep my sidelined for the better part of a year. Been very isolated, looking to socialize with people outside of my team health care professionals. Apologies to anyone I lost touch with before my health took a turn for the worse. Getting back into fighting shape - send me a message especially if you're looking for a work-out buddy!

I'm always looking to try new things and expand my mind as well as my circle of friends...

I enjoy lots of artsy/nerdy stuff and I let my freak flag fly... while everyone else is having kids and getting sober, I instead grew up to be a fanboy

must dash when i think of more i'll add it...

I am intellectual, imaginative, and expressive
What I’m doing with my life
Lots going on: finishing my graduate degrees, working, always learning...

Started my own business a few years back, so I'm always on the go and my schedule can often change. If I'm not in contact right away and/or frequently, don't take it personally...

Trying to maintain a place in life that allows me to be successful as myself with a platform for creative expression, but also provides financial stability without having to be surrounded by empty materialistic people only interested in keeping up with the Johnson's and dying with the most toys...
I’m really good at
Making people laugh, discussing ideas, generally being creative... not terribly good at summing myself up in quips on internet profiles...

"It's true. She's very funny and great to be around. :) stray_farce"
The first things people usually notice about me
my sense of humor, my hair, my smile, my out-spoken attitude!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Off the top of my head: Les Miserables, The Portable Dorothy Parker, Shopgirl, whatever the latest cultural studies book that i've found

Movies: Have to admit that I am a movie-geek who will drive an hour to catch some little indie flick (yeah Cornell Cinema & Fall Creek) and has been known to say "well, yes, and in the original Danish version..." To name but a few of my favs: Wonder Boys, Peter's Friends, LA Confidential, Layer Cake, Clerks, Fight Club, Mrs Parker & the Vicious Circle, The Baxter, Fantastic Mr Fox

Music: very eclectic but off the top of my head: Chris Isaak, Barenaked Ladies, The Smiths/Morrissey, They Might Be Giants, Stone Temple Pilots, Michael Penn, Liz Phair, other angry-young-man-on-prozac alternative rock, classical, opera... basically whatever provides the soundtrack to my mood at the time

Food: I'm a foodie, love to cook and try new things; my food snob friends keep my tummy full... still prob my fav food is pizza because you can make it quick and from just about anything (flatbread, bagels). Oh, and Newman's Own Limeade is my crack...
Six things I could never do without
1) My Friends: the people who challenge and inspire and just make me laugh
2) My pets: they just continue to delight and amaze me
3) My books: should be obvious enough
4) My car: I have a strong sense of wanderlust and love a spontaneous road trip

5-6) still pondering...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything... my mind is always at work...

Mostly books, movies, comedy, music, comics, art, travel, wine & cooking; current events, politics, religion/philosophy, psychology, genetics, language, and lots of other little non sequiturs that trigger my neurons...
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with my friends having good time and a good laugh (movies, dinner out, get-together, etc.), or sometimes at home catching up on movies, shows or a good book
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a chronic illness, and it can be a bummer
You should message me if
- You appreciate the finer things in life (e.g. theatre, cuisine), but not to the point of such insufferable snobbishness that you can't delight in simpler pleasures (e.g. popcorn movies, midnight pancakes at the local diner)
- You've actually developed a personality and sense of who you are, and as such do not expect me to fall over you merely because of the numbers in your postal code, bank account, or penis length
- You understand the merits of a real J-O-B (or even a career), but not solely for the sake of obtaining status seeking toys and trappings
- You're tired of the same old nonsense and want a challenging new person who's nothing like you've known before...
