My self-summary
I'm a native Louisvillian but I am out on the run for the foreseeable future, spreading my healing powers coast-to-coast. I met my darling husband on this site, and continue to maintain this profile mainly because I have had it so long and put so much effort into tweaking it to be the perfect internet snapshot of my persona. I am primarily looking for friendship.
What I’m doing with my life
nursing the sick, trying to find a balance, trying to get the most out of each moment, trying to figure out what goals I'd like to achieve, trying to make the most of my youth,over-analyzing everything.

basically just trying.
I’m really good at
making people feel good about themselves, being by myself, finding humor in difficult situations, therapeutic communication, finding obscure facts on the internet, giving massages, problem solving, finding compromises, anything involving manual dexterity ( knitting, spinning , untying knots, putting together finicky little things )
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm tall, and so pale I make Casper the Friendly Ghost look tan. Good teeth. Their inexplicable desire to tell me everything.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Haruki Murakami, especially his short stories, Shirley Jackson , Richard Yates, The Little Girl Who Lived Down the Lane, Neil Gaiman, basically, books that are creepy. The Time Traveler's Wife, Revolutionary Road,Written on the Body, All The King's Men (I didn't finish it though!), Raymond Carver, short-stories in general, Let the Right One in, David Foster Wallace , Home Before Morning: The Story of an Army Nurse in Vietnam and many, many more. I also enjoy non-fiction, especially instructional manuals.

(If you too are an avid reader, feel free to friend me on Goodreads: http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1407972-clarissa I update pretty frequently)

music: Beach House I mainly just spend all my time listening to their entire discography, and poorly trying to sing along with Victoria LeGrand's haunting voice. The Microphones/Mt. Eerie, K records in general, The Beach Boys, Classic Rock, The American Analogue Set, Animal Collective, Pinback, Systems Officer, Three Mile Pilot, Dan Deacon , Beirut Notorious B.I.G, Built to Spill, Bright Eyes, Bruce Springsteen The Smiths, Atmosphere - I can go on, and on, and on but suffice it to say that like of course everyone else on here, I have diverse musical tastes. Generally the kind of stuff that wins me over is just really poppy with a good hook,or has fantastic lyrics, is really soulful or emotional, or is very atmospheric

movies: those of Lars von Trier, especially Breaking the Waves, Paris J'taime, Dig!, Almost Famous, Wes Anderson films , Steel Magnolias (and a lot of guilty-pleasure-woman-films), foreign films especially a lot of scandinavian ones, lately. I LOVE documentaries Lars and the Real Girl independent films I enjoy a lot of comedic/ happy movies, but I am not someone who thinks movies always have to be happy, attractive, funny, or easy to watch to be worth watching.

food: cheese of basically any kind, red meat indian, sushi, cuban, brussel sprouts, asparagus, greens, bacon, I have a voracious appetite and am very not-picky. I believe in giving things I dislike not just one try, but five tries and have discovered some of my favorite gustatory loves this way; for example, beer and coffee.
Six things I could never do without
Excluding the obvious:

1.) deodorant
2.) a good book
3.) coffee
4.) cheese
5.) transportation
6.) my planner ( I am old fashioned and it has to be a paper one!)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
If/How the world will end, people I've lost touch with, my life's purpouse, being a better friend, what my cats think of me, how to make various things and procedures more efficient, which one of my senses I would part with first, where I should move, money, food.
On a typical Friday night I am
If not working, then probably frantically driving around with my husband or walking miles and miles in search of something beautiful or entertaining to experience, or just a delicious bite to eat. That or whiling away hours with a good book or stuck in a facebook loop.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'll tell you anything- just not on the internet!
You should message me if
You're a reasonably intelligent and kind person.

I really only keep this thing around because I put a lot of time into all those personality questions... and it has brought some cool people into my life; my husband being the best one that comes to mind.
