My self-summary
Jack of all trades, master of puns. Often obsessive over projects, and sometimes forget to have a life outside those projects. I usually work as close to 24 hours a day as possible, whether that really benefits me or not. I make my own hours, so that probably says a lot about me. I'm a business owner in the fine arts industrial complex (by that I mean I'm a book publisher.) I'm planning on sticking around the area for a while as my business grows, but I've spent a lot of time moving around, and I'm usually happiest when I've got a mobile lifestyle. Some significant portions of my life took place in New York City and southeast Alaska. I've put New York behind me, but Alaska still has a hold on me, and I'd like to spend more time there someday when I can afford to buy property so I don't have to deal with sleazy landlords.

When I have expendable income, I spend a disproportionate amount on expensive food and entertainment, which sometimes puzzles my more practical roommates. I get bored easily, and I need constant stimulation, or I'll start to get restless. At certain points of my life, that aspect of my personality has caused me a lot of trouble, but I take the good with the bad and have a lot of stories to show for it.

I've written a novella and a full-length poetry collection, and I'm working on my first full-length novel. It's a comedy about a talking dog and its owner and their adventures in capitalist suburbia, sort of a tongue in cheek celebration of advertising culture and consumerism.

You probably could not describe me as "chill" and I think that's a good thing. I'm serious and eccentric and adventurous and intense. My lifestyle may often seem fairly laid-back on the outside, but I'm always planning and I'm rarely relaxed.

I like to cook. If you're adventurous, ask me to make you paella. It would make my day.

I am more punk than I look.
What I’m doing with my life
Work work work. Writing a book. Publishing other people's books. Programming a silly little detective game.
I’m really good at
Alienating myself? Intellectual bullshit. Intuition. Imagination.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Indie & small press lit. Novellas and overly complex books, and oddly little in the middle. I also have a strong appreciation for short stories and poetry. My favorite writer is Richard Brautigan. My book collection is starting to get large-ish. Lean toward the heavily literary.

Film tastes are all over the place from mumblecore to over-the-top kung fu flicks. I was a film school nerd. As for TV, Trek is always a winner. Louie, Broad City, Game of Thrones. Passion for cartoons. I could honestly watch El Chapulin Colorado all day long (but only with the subtitles off.) Weird humor and interesting characters are the two most important check boxes for me.

Music tastes change too often, but right now, I think my favorite band is Yo La Tengo. Minutemen. Sonic Youth. I prefer complicated to simple, generally. I recently got a premium subscription to Google Play Music, so I've been bouncing around between a lot of out-there stations.

If we're going to be honest here, my least favorite food is probably asparagus, and my favorite food is probably cheap whiskey.
The six things I could never do without
Sunsets, clear lakes, travel by sea, new ideas, sense of adventure, and probably allergy medication.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I have a bad habit of obsessing over my publishing company. My thoughts are usually dominated by marketing schemes.
On a typical Friday night I am
Pretending that I don't have to get back to work on Monday.
You should message me if
If you are bored. If you are a misfit. If you like setting things on fire.
