Island and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
anything by Joseph Campbell
Neil Gaiman has some pretty good stuff
Krishnamurti is good when I'm feeling the need to get all deep and meta-conscious
Top Gun (secret guilty pleasure)
Tree of Life
Don't have many particular likes in music, honestly my taste in music is pretty simple. I like some big-band and swing music, doo-wop is always fun but I pretty much listen to whatever my wife has on her itunes account, she's way more sophisticated in that department than I am.
I'll eat most things, except baby animals now (lamb, veal, baby octopus, etc). I'm a big fan of Asian food (Indian included) because I think they have a couple thousand year head start on treating food consumption as an art than most cultures have and seems to have the most diversity in terms of how to prepare everything...plus I'm Asian.
