So yeah, I'm Nick. I'm from Italy, but I lived here in southern cali for over half of my life. I graduated college at OCC with a major in Film. I am not a fan of talking about myself if we do end up conversing I'll probably learn a lot more about you than vice versa. I'm a bit of a geek I guess, I enjoy anything film related such as screenwriting, principal photography, editing, watching (ha). I play video games (not as often as I'd like, but I get the essentials done), I'm a Playstation guy, sorry XBOX people! I love that I just said that even though I own a PS4 & XB1 lol (psn and gamer tag : Critic87 add me!).
I've been reading a lot of comics. Been collecting graphic novels... If I had to choose between Marvel or DC I'd choose DC Comics (Don't hate! I still enjoy Marvel... But as far as comics go DC is tons better. Sorry not sorry).
Man this is hard... uhhh 3 words that may best describe me when we first meet:
shy (only at first), goofy, and affectionate
I'm also help out at my family's event venue / art gallery in Laguna Beach that my aunt runs. I also am a English ambassador you could say for my dad's american clients (he has an art gallery in Brazil) doing import/export work. My MAIN job these days I suppose is this lab equipment distribution company I helped start from the ground up last year... Last but not least I do some freelance screenwriting, which is mostly on hold due to well, other jobs.
Crap, I just remembered that I'm also part of a video team that covers conventions such as Anime Expo and Comic-Con. The pay isn't great, but it's more for the experience and free hotel rooms... oh and all access ANYWHERE! :P
Film Is what I want to be a part of the most and this is what I wish I could be doing full time. But yeah having 3 or so jobs makes that a bit difficult and gives me little free time... Probably the biggest reason why I'm on this site. Hopefully ill be moving to Hollywood, but I've been saying that for years now and it's easier said than done.
It would be cool to meet some people in that area as well as my current area.
Movies>>/<<Film: I've seen so many movies its pretty scary... not gonna lie. Pretty much anything with Edward Norton, Christian Bale, or Johnny Depp are amazing. I mostly like Indie films and well written dramas. Horror and Action are also my guilty pleasures. But off the top of my head here is a short (kinda long) list of movies I dig:
LEON: The Professional (my all-time fav), Fight Club, The Fifth Element, Pulp Fiction, The Usual Suspects, Oldboy, Pan's Labyrinth, Unleashed, Donnie Darko, The Shawshank Redemption, Cinema Paradiso, Brick, Garden State, From Hell, Silent Hill, 28 Days Later, The Beach, Sunshine, Evil Dead I & II, Army Of Darkness, The Mist, Re-Animator, <<Rocky Horror Picture Show>>, The Godfather, Almost Famous, Being John Malkovich, Sling Blade, Life Is Beautiful, Cinema Paradiso, City Of God, American Beauty, Clerks, Chasing Amy, Punch-Drunk Love, American History X, A Clockwork Orange, Saw I-VI (eh, they entertain me for the most part), The Rules Of Attraction, Boiler Room, Go, Rocky, Die Hard, <<The Dark Knight>> Trilogy, The Punisher, 300, Ghostbusters, V For Vendetta, The Matrix Trilogy, Edward Scissorhands, Batman, Sleepy Hollow, Big Fish (anything <<Tim Burton>>, <<Christopher Nolan>>, <<David Fincher>>, <<Wes Anderson>>). So yeah, that's my short list... my other list ranges in the thousands! x.X
TV Shows: LOST, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Supernatural, Walking Dead, Sons Of Anarchy, True Blood, Battlestar Galactica, Big Bang Theory, Californication, Flight Of The Chonchords, Mad Med, Six Feet Under, Veronica Mars, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage... Anything HBO/Showtime/AMC basically.
If you haven't noticed by now I basically love FILM! And anything film related, such as TV and even theater.
Music: Rock/Alternative/Punk/UK/Indie, Basically KROQ shit before they play the songs too many damn times and I get sick of them. I also have a huge liking towards film scores. I admire quite a few film composers.
I hate this question. If I could only have 6 things and it was just those 6 things I'd still be upset. :p
That being said, I've usually been "single" most of my life and have enjoyed my fair share of casual relationships. I recently had a taste of what a substantial, hardworking relationship feels like and I gotta admit I really liked it. I'm sad that it had to end but it did and now I don't really want to settle for anything less than substantial.
Ignorant/closed minded people should stay away... Your lack of accepting new knowledge would only anger me.
Also, I just got a personal trainer and finally getting my lazy ass to the gym. So someone who works out or can help enable me to lead a healthier lifestyle would be a nice bonus (not a deal breaker though).
