My self-summary
These are so ridiculous, but here goes... I'm a big kid who's often off adventuring somewhere, whether it be Africa, Central America, or here at home in Colorado. I'm usually outdoors kayaking, hiking, (getting into soon) rock climbing, and playing baseball. There's always so much more I want to do...like increasing my usage of ellipses.
What I’m doing with my life
Civil engineering, I suppose. Working remotely from Addis while trying to start my own firm...
I’m really good at
compiling random knowledge, which helps with trivia and crossword puzzles; outdoorsy shenanigans; building stuff. And quite possibly the most enticing things ever: math and physics.
The first things people usually notice about me
Seems like you might have to ask them that...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: On The Road, Where the Wild Things Are, The Power of Myth, most any history or international development book

Movies: Anything Monty Python, Bill Murray, or Stanley Kubrick

Music: Punk, Ska, and most anything except for country and rap (e.g. Less Than Jake, NOFX, Mutemath, The Thermals).

Food: Growing up with an English mother has kept me from being a picky eater.
Six things I could never do without
Music/podcasts, my kayak, Kerouac, books, baseball, and, uh, my spleen.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
International and sustainable development, spllng errors, current issues, how a coconut can end up in Mercia... Lord knows a swallow couldn't have carried it.
On a typical Friday night I am
There is no typical Friday. Bars, camping, concerts, staying in; anything goes.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Bryan Adams is awesome and I don't care who knows it...

I like having hardwood floors in my apartment because it allows me to slide around in my socks wherever I go.

Otherwise, ask. I'm not a terribly secretive person.
You should message me if
you're looking for an adventure and someone who can actually carry on a reasonably intelligent conversation, whether it's about politics, philosophy, physics, or pink paradoxical pronouns.

If you can geek out to something you're absurdly passionate about or can quote Kerouac or have an interest in the developing world...
