I have a really terrible memory. High school? Not really there. College? A blur at best. I forget names especially easily. My short-term is OK, but oh that long-term.
I might over-think things. I'm not sure because i do so love to think. Out-loud and with people too. If you like mildly rambling conversations on the nature of perception, boy howdy will we get along. And do you like to have them at diners? 'Cause I sure do.
I am a good listener. Really. I know that's one of those things that everyone thinks they do well. Active, engaged, and insightful. I'm also funny and kiss well.
Quite serious on the funny part. Well, on the kissing part, too.
I have a powerful and uncritical love of coffee.
I'm not that good at coming up with really clever things to do, but I'm great at following through with plans once they're set. I'm up for adventure.
I am over, thinking, and this
Trying to be a comedic actor in illegitimate theater; Improv, Burlesque, Commedia, Clown (not quite what you're thinking; nothing like birthday [*shudder*] or circus clowns. I'm trained in something called Red-Nose clowning [I know, don't they all have red noses?] which is all about character [closer to Marx brothers or Bugs Bunny than the dreaded punsmiths that are birthday clowns]), a little stand-up (anything that is not necessarily respected, but is actually entertaining).
As you can see, I really enjoy talking about clown theory...
I'm also into sewing; I like to draft my own patterns for projects, usually my only problem is a derth of inspiration. I like other crafts as well: I enjoy knots and braiding, and might just be the greatest boondoogle talent on the planet (not a lot of ways to check, 'though)
My posture has a lot of air and very little earth in it (I've studied some movement [just because the theatre I do is illegitimate doesn't mean I don't take it seriously]). One of best friends said that when she first saw me she described me as floating.
Movies! I Heart Huckabee's, The Fall, (most) anything by Wes Anderson, non-superheroic movies by Michelle Gondry, Pan's Labyrinth, Labyrinth, Strings, Dark Crystal, 5th Element... I am sucker for Pixar. I love horror movies. Good, bad, ugly: I'm there. My favorites are cheesy 80's with lots of latex. Oh how i hate how bad CGI has so overwhelmingly replaced physical effects.
Music... Hmm.... that's a bigie ain't it? I love it, and am completely intimidated by how much amazign stuff that is out there that i don't know about, but some mainstays and obsessables are Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, the Decemberists, Stephin Merrit's myriad bands, Peter Bjorn & John, Rilo Kiley/ Jenny Lewis, Gogol Bordello, Qua, Mermaid Avenue, Scissor Sisters, Dar Williams, Ben Folds, and so much more... Want to expose me to more? Please do! Oh! Oh-Oh! Make me a mix! Please!
Food< So much love for food. Love trying new foods, love all the food I've tried. Except liccorice. Hateful stuff. I dislike it enough that while I realize I have misspelled it, i refuse to spell-check it into accuracy
I know, I know: this question is not literally about friday nights, it uses the iconic nature of friday night as the quintessential evening of socializing and dating as a springboard for me to give an idea of what form I most enjoy socializing. Well in short I like to talk, so unless I am specifically at a place to dance, I don't want the music to blare. Also I don't want to pay too much for a beer. in short I like smaller groups (the better to have conversations involving everyone) at dive bars or diners. Or cooler places, if available, like boats or barges or gutted warehouses or what-have-you.
