My self-summary
I'm a Seattle transplant from the east coast, and looking to expand my social horizons. I work for a company whose products I have no use for, and I like to spend my spare time with my friends, picking each others' brains and being awesome. I also have two cats, Jade and Eureka.
What I’m doing with my life
Mostly wandering, taking each day's excitements and disappointments as they come. I'd have to say that overall, I'd like to be happy and make others around me happy. Whatever path I end up taking to reach that goal will probably be an interesting one :)
I’m really good at
Most of my social training is in being a nerd. If you've never had a serious discussion about Buffy the Vampire Slayer...I'll still be your friend, but no promises past that :P
The first things people usually notice about me
I tend to be pretty quiet and shy around new people, but I'll be the one to at least try to strike a match to some lame topic until we get rolling :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Let's see... I'll update this more at some point.

Books are super important in my life, mostly fantasy and fiction (H2G2, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and anything by Neil Gaiman are just a very few that come to mind.) I love indie/folk music (Dar Williams, Ingrid Michaelson, Girlyman), and also Broadway. Love theatre in general. I became obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer in high school, and the situation has only slightly improved since then. Quirky shows, like Community, Dead Like Me, My So-Called Life, are pretty sweet. Movies? How about Being John Malkovich, American Beauty, Garden State, and Chance. Strange ones that feed my brain thoughts I might not have otherwise. Oh, and I was vegetarian for four years, but when I moved to Seattle I couldn't help but start indulging in sushi again.
The six things I could never do without
1. My friends
2. The internet
3. Books
4. Hope in the universe's tendency to bring people where they need to be in their lives
5. Love
6. Estrogen

Not necessarily in that order
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why there is so much suffering in the world, while trying to keep myself focused on the beauty.
On a typical Friday night I am
Sometimes out partying, but much more often at a friends's house or my own, with a good book/movie and a bottle of wine, or talking for hours online with my more long-distance friends
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a pretty open book. Message me, and maybe I'll share that with you :)
You should message me if
You'd like to get to know me. I'm by and large an open book!
